Orange County's latest murders reflect an alarming trend for law enforcement: urban firefights with dozens of shots fired.
The shooters in Tuesday night's double killing outside a Pine Hills apartment complex emptied two AK-47s into the victims and fled, discarding the assault rifles, two handguns and a shotgun.

I expect this is the latest attempt by Brady Center, et al, to make a guncontrol meme. Watch for "the usual suspects" to bemoan the plague of "cheap disposable guns".
Pine Hills used to be called Crime Hills when I lived in Orlando awhile back. Sounds like it hasn’t gotten any better.
Sounds like someone paid some low-life’s to use “assault rifles” and leave them to be found. I suspect these types of crimes will increase significantly if Obama is elected, just in time for his “assault weapon” ban.
SOmeone should show the gun control people that these laws do little to reduce so called “Gun Violence”. How does preventing an average honest citizen stop a unstable criminal’s use of a gun to murder.
Perhaps if someone were to make an example like banning cars or a waiting period they could make the connection. Naw.
They would just go on a “BANNING” rampage....anything for the Gov’t to protect a citizen to dumb to do anything but vote democrat.
I wonder if intercourse will require a physical and a physcians note? Sorry dear my doctor says my blood pressure is too high..we’ll apply for a permit again in a month. LOL
Disposable guns may have a role to play in Urban Self-defense!
I would not consider several of those pieces disposables
Really. Even the cheapest WASR-10 is in the $3-400 range, locally, these days. No way I'd be throwing it away when the magazine was empty.
While that may be true, the price without the many infringements of the Second Amendment would probably be more like $75. In either case, the cost of the equipment would be dwarfed by the legal costs if apprehended committing the crime. The cost of firearms is already inconsequential to many crimes, including turf wars over the illegal drug monopoly.
This is serious. Think of the environmental impact of all these disposable guns. The gun industry needs to set up recycling centers STAT! If they aren’t recycled, those guns will clog up land fill sites, or litter public parks everywhere. Suppose these disposable guns get into the ocean? What about the whales!?

A couple of things:
First, the media being what it is, we don’t know for sure if it was an actual AK-47 pattern rifle or an SKS or what.
Secondly, they were disposing of a murder weapon. Any sane hitman knows to do that.
Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.
In Latin America and Russia the forensics are primitive, but there are no "exclusionary" laws regarding searches, which are conducted at police will and without regard for legal niceties.
So it makes sense for those places. But it shows that the shooters are probably foreigners who don't understand that leaving a weapon behind in the U.S. is like a forensic goldmine: even the trace DNA on the one place they didn't wipe it, or even from gloves they were wearing, can be isolated. Meaning that they will be identified positively and linked to the weapon once they are found.
Not a disposable gun thing, but a tactic employed by alien criminals, probably illegal aliens.
The shooters in Tuesday night's double killing outside a Pine Hills apartment complex emptied two AK-47s into the victims and fled, discarding the assault rifles, two handguns and a shotgun."They just disposed of them like disposable cigarette lighters, I guess, because they're so easy to get," sheriff's homicide Detective Dave Clark said Friday. "I mean, it's really unusual for people to leave stuff like this behind."
Wow ... AK-47 assault rifles are "so easy to get." I've seen a few semi-auto knockoffs, but haven't seen an AK-47 since I retired 22 years ago. Guess I should I should visit Florida.
you got that right!
Uh, Detective Clark have you ever thought that maybe they didn't want to risk being stopped in their car carrying a couple of rifles with warm barrels and empty magazines? Sounds like typical steps taken by hitmen to leave the weapons at the scene of the crime.
You can bet the weapons were stolen

You mean Bloomberg, Feinstein, Boxer, Schumer, McCarthy...
Sounds like someone paid some low-lifes to use assault rifles and leave them to be found. I suspect these types of crimes will increase significantly if Obama is elected, just in time for his total firearms ban.
Fixed*
$1-3000 does not constitute "disposable".
