What happened to the Sen. John McCain we once knew? What happened to the jovial, optimistic war hero who promised a civil and elevating presidential campaign? Where's that campaign that would be based on real issues, not brainless emotions or partisan cheap shots?
Ah, those were the days.
That was long before the economy tanked and McCain's poll numbers went into a slide behind Sen. Barack Obama's like the Dow Jones industrial average.
These are the days in which McCain's attacks against the Democratic nominee have grown sharper and angrier. He unleashed his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, like an attack puppy. Together they pushed their conservative audiences farther right and, in some cases, right over the edge.
Of course, every campaign, even that of Obama, distorts quotes or pushes half-truths in the heat of a close campaign. Politics ain't beanbag. But the red-meat rhetoric thrown out at McCain's recent rallies stains his good name with a tinge of fearmongering, anger-baiting and xenophobia.
"This is not a man who sees America as you see it and how I see America," Palin said.
Her oratory has sparked lusty boos and jeers. Shout-outs from the crowd have included "terrorist," "socialist" and "treason."
A Washington Post report said a man yelled, "Kill him!" at a rally in Florida last week, and that an epithet was shouted at a black sound technician with a TV news crew.

If it wasn't, why would the NY Times and all of their flunky allies be screaming at the top of their lungs for McCain to stop.
If it was damaging the McCain campaign, they would just headline the attacks on their front pages, and not raise a word in editorial protest. Instead, they hide the attacks to the best of their ability EXCEPT in their editorial boards where they state their rage and disappointment.
Well, if the MSM did a job once in a while that had some integrity, the people would know Obama for the shisterhead he is.

OSSAMABAMA background and relations(which is among the MAIN ISSUES).
1/His program is weak and intend to lead USA backward to the old has been socialism.
2/His vision of USA is scary if you think of J.WRIGHT and the bunch of anti-american leftists he has been palling with
3/His person is very dangerous with multiple ties which lead to think he will not work for the best USA’ interests

Hopefully, abandoned for good, now that it is clear even to McCain that the Democrat "mainstream" newsrooms are further in the tank for B. Hussein Obama than they have ever been for any previous Democrat candidate. And that is saying something....

This is the kind of idiot that is on the editorial page of the paper here in my city. I cancelled the paper last month.
This article is so fraught with half truths and outright lies it is not even worth reading. I agree, these fools wouldn't even be bringing up the “what's happened to McCain” crap if it weren't working. Full speed ahead, Mr. McCain! Course changes unwarranted.
