For middle aged and older people at least, using the internet helps boost brain power, research suggests. A University of California Los Angeles team found searching the web stimulates centres in the brain that control decision-making and complex reasoning. The researchers say this might even help to counter-act the age-related physiological changes that cause the brain to slow down. The study features in the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry.
As the brain ages, a number of changes occur, including shrinkage and reductions in cell activity, which can impact on performance. It has long been thought that activities which keep the brain active, such as crossword puzzles, may help minimise the impact - and the latest study suggests that surfing the web can be added to the list.

So... reading FR is good for me!! *\;-)
Now I can silence my kids who say I spent too much time on the internet.
More is better too!
“Internet use ‘good for the brain’” — but often bad for the blood pressure.
Web use stimulates much more activity in the same brain
I’ve been telling everyone all along that surfing porn was good for something.
Medication can handle the Blood Pressure...I can recommend some .....prescriptions however.
I feel smarter already.

It’s a curse and a blessing ..
btw,, I was just doing “research” on Rum, keying on the word ‘RICO’ as in what one goes best with FRied ACORN. :-)
Brisk walks are even more good. I call mine “The Brain Hike!” Mrs. Wasp says productive work on my part is most helpful to her brain!!!
Oh brother! That one was so good I charged it to my MasterCard, cause it was PRICELESS!!!
Thanks — avoidance of some sites seems to be the best answer. A visit to FR is often prescribed.
Say what? Are you telling me I would be even more forgetful if I wasn’t using this thing???
Depends on which sites.
No wonder why I’m the smartest person I know. \s
