In all three presidential debates, some pivotal facts have been grotesquely obscured. The very law that Democrats cite as the reason for our current financial mess, and the one for which they blame Sen. John McCain, is a law that he opposed and they supported [-] along with the majority of both Republicans and Democrats that included Sen. Barack Obama's running mate, Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware. Interesting article. I keep hearing that Gramm-Leach-Biley contributed to the problem. I have never heard precisely how it did so. It allowed commercial bank holding companies to acquire investment banks and stock brokerages. How did that contribute to a problem that, as far as I can tell, was caused by the CRA, the enhancement of the CRA by Clinton, the separation of risk creation from risk retention through securitization, and an out of control Fannie Mae?

The strange part about Harry Reid’s support for all this chicanery is that there are not alot of blacks in Nevada.

There are also not many banks headquartered here, despite no oncome tax.

It’s part of the price Harry paid for CBC support to be Leader of the House, probably. Also, to satisfy the perception that he is a good little liberal.
