The McCain campaign, today unhappy about the attention Joe the plumber is getting, has been running against the press off and on for a while, and the hostility from some supporters to the press does seem to be getting more intense.
As usual, anecdotes are just that. But this one, from a reporter working on a piece for the Greensboro News-Record, stands out. He writes that he wandered to the back of a Palin event to talk to some protesters:
I sidled up to one of the Obama supporters and asked why they were there, what they were trying to accomplish.
As he was telling me a large, bearded man in full McCain-Palin campaign regalia got in his face to yell at him.
“Hey, hey,” I said. “I’m trying to interview him. Just a minute, okay?”
The man began to say something about how of course I was interviewing the Obama people when suddenly, from behind us, the sound of a pro-Obama rap song came blaring out of the windows of a dorm building. We all turned our heads to see Obama signs in the windows.
This was met with curses, screams and chants of “U.S.A” by McCain-Palin folks who crowded under the windows trying to drown it out and yell at the person playing the stereo.
It was a moment of levity in an otherwise very tense situation and so I let out a gentle chuckle and shook my head.
“Oh, you think that’s funny?!” the large bearded man said. His face was turning red. “Yeah, that’s real funny…” he said.
And then he kicked the back of my leg, buckling my right knee and sending me sprawling onto the ground.

This is pure BS and the reporter is a liar. The News & Fishwrap is a hack liberal rag that is not even suitable for lining bird cages.
More crap staged by Camp Obuma. We just learned from the Secret Service that the “Kill him” allegation made by the PA girlyman reporter was a lie. This is the same Commie crap from the ‘RATS.
Raising the BS alert on this one. There are plenty of cops at these events; why didn’t he file an assault complaint??? “sent me sprawling to the ground...” awwwww...
This should be it’s own post - the McCain campaign put the spotlight on this guy. He’s not a public figure, nor is he running for office. They need to take him in, give him whatever help he needs, and see if he’d be willing to go out on the trail. He’s absolute gold, warts and all.

I don’t think these effete journalist school jackasses understand how much anger has built up over the past 20 years and more at the left-wing, pimping, disgusting liars and propagandists who work for the media.
This has been a one sided war, ever since around 1968. Now maybe a few people will get angry enough to fight back.
The astonishing thing is that this hasn’t happened more often. left-wing activists don’t hesitate to attack members of the press who offend them, as we saw at the RNC Convention. But it’s only news when angry citizens finally start losing it.
No doubt they will make this a big propaganda play. Maybe the answer is not to apologize yet again, but to ask, “Well, what else did you expect? You are the guys who chose to start a war against our country and its citizens. Yes, you started it. Now either stop with your treasonous lies and one-sided propaganda, or expect to take some medicine.”
The press has declared war on Americans who do not support their chosen one. They have taken to making up stuff to smear them now.
Makes you wonder if the press is getting desparate because they know they are losing. The huge McCain/Palin crowds make them angry so they have decided to smear the McCain/Palin supporters.
For crying out loud, these hysteronics are downright palestinian.
Show us the police report.

IF this happened the way it was reported . . . and I would condemn the violence if it did happen . . . the fact remains that many people are angry about blatant media bias, very angry . . . and the media have brought this on themselves. The anger is certainly NOT being encouraged by John McCain or Sarah Palin. The media are to blame . . . but I feel like I’m wasting my time saying it. Most of them are proud as can be and seem to have no capacity for self-criticism.

a) get a picture of the assailant,
b) file a police report and
c) are there witness statements.

How convenient that this buckling kick in the back of the leg is something that would be difficult to witness.
