Archbishop Chaput: The Homicides Involved in Abortion Are 'Little Murders'
Catholic Online ^ | 10/18/08 | Archbishop Charles J. Chaput

Prof. Kmiec has a strong record of service to the Church and the nation in his past. He served in the Reagan administration, and he supported Mitt Romney's campaign for president before switching in a very public way to Barack Obama earlier this year. In his own book he quotes from Render Unto Caesar at some length. In fact, he suggests that his reasoning and mine are ''not far distant on the moral inquiry necessary in the election of 2008.'' Unfortunately, he either misunderstands or misuses my words, and he couldn't be more mistaken.

I believe that Senator Obama, whatever his other talents, is the most committed ''abortion-rights'' presidential candidate of either major party since the Roe v. Wade abortion decision in 1973. Despite what Prof. Kmiec suggests, the party platform Senator Obama runs on this year is not only aggressively ''pro-choice;'' it has also removed any suggestion that killing an unborn child might be a regrettable thing. On the question of homicide against the unborn child - and let's remember that the great Lutheran pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer explicitly called abortion ''murder'' - the Democratic platform that emerged from Denver in August 2008 is clearly anti-life.

People who claim that supporting an outspoken defender of legal abortion is somehow "prolife" are not just wrong; they're betraying the witness of every person who continues the work of defending the unborn child.

Genocide of the unborn, how long before God’s judgement befalls our country?

It appears that maybe the Catholic Church is growing some much needed onions.

The young woman sat in the doctor’s office waiting room and cuddled the 6 month-old boy in her lap. Soon she was escorted to an exam room.

The doctor finally came in, smiled, sat down, glanced at her file and asked “Mrs. Jones, what brings you here today?”

She hesitated — then the words tumbled out in a torrent.

“Doctor, my husband doesn’t make much money, we have 3 children now and I’m pregnant again. Doctor we just can’t afford another mouth to feed – we’re barely making it now. She paused again. “Doctor, I want an abortion.”

The doctor sat back in his chair, laid the file aside and said, “An abortion costs around 500 dollars and you probably don’t have the money. I have a better, less expensive option. “ Reaching into a drawer, the doctor extracted a scalpel and continued.

“Lay the lad here across your lap and pull his shirt up so his chest is exposed.”

Shocked, she blurted, “What are you going to do?”

“Why, we’ll simply kill THIS baby.”

Clutching her son to her breast, she leapt to her feet and shouted “You MONSTER!”

The doctor paused, then spoke.

“Mrs. Jones, the only difference between your proposal and mine is that one baby is IN your lap and the other is ON you lap and, therefore, much easier to get at.”

She ran from the room, his words ringing in her ears.

Is abortion the killing of a human being?

Not according to Obama, NARAL and the other radical feminist gangs who require that abortion continue to be available to them as a last resort birth control method to allow them to persist in their sexually promiscuous lifestyle.

I’ll believe it’s NOT a human being when a woman gives birth to a chicken, hog or a tree.

I’ve already sent this to many who need good ammunition for dealing with “pro-choice Catholics.”

21 week old “blob of snot” grabs surgeon’s hand during pre-natal procedure. Obama, if that’s NOT a human baby, please tell us what it is?
