Robert F. Kennedy, Jr: Innocent ACORN Defrauded by ACORN Workers
NewsBusters ^ | October 19, 2008 | P.J. Gladnick

This is just too funny! Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has been on a vote fraud shtick for at least two years ever since he began writing about how the Republicans "stole" the 2004 election (somehow they didn't bother to "steal" the elections in 2006). This year he is claiming that the Republicans are again trying to steal the election via "voter suppression." What Kennedy means is that when Republicans dare to challenge the vast number of fraudulent registrations submitted by ACORN, that is somehow "voter suppression." So how to explain the very obvious false registrations submitted by ACORN around the country in such large numbers that the FBI is investigating them? Kennedy has an answer that will induce bellylaughs. Before we get to his money quote laugh line, let me set up the scene where Kennedy was appearing on CNN's Larry King Live last Friday along with radio talk show host, Michael Reagan. Here is the transcript (emphasis mine):

LARRY KING: Bobby, let's discuss the article you've written in "Rolling Stone."

Allegations of -- do you fear a lot of voter fraud coming?

I know that today the Supreme Court went on your side and sided with Ohio's top election officials in a fight with the state Republican Party over voter registration. The judges overruled the lower court ruling that ordered the Ohio secretary of state to do more to help counties verify voter eligibility.

What are your concerns?

ACORN, the virginal victim of their own workers. Of course, they still continue to turn in massive numbers of fraudulent registrations.

Yeah ACORN isn’t responsible for its workers.

Now pay your taxes, the good, hard working people at ACORN really need the money. :)

Ever notice how when a cop screws up, they sue the city or county. Somehow the lawyers always think that it’s the employers fault. You very seldom see lawyers sue (blame) the individual employee. They alway sue (blame) the employer. I wonder what makes ACORN different than normal employers.

I think his father and Uncle would be ashamed of him if they were alive. Only his uncle Ted could have instilled such values in the children of both. John Jr. at least cared more about what his father stood for than his cousins ever have. The only Kennedy worth her salt is Arnold’s wife Maria.

That’s exactly the same reasoning Sharpton used on “Huckabee” last night. Exactly.

Must be a coincidence.

As an experienced Heroin addict, Mr. Kennedy probably speaks some truth here.

ACORN isn’t too picky about checking references, and undoubtably hires some of his compatriots who are not known for their honesty.

Of course, ACORN doesn’t pay a living wage, pension or benefits to voter registration workers, maybe if they did they would be able to get a better class of worker.

This election is a turning into a sick joke.

The only way Americans can win is if we get voting in large numbers and put Country First.

A Kennedy talking about stealing elections. How ironic.

******

Chicago and the Presidential Election of 1960

fraud clearly occurred in Cook County. At least three people were sent to jail for election-related crimes, and 677 others were indicted before being acquitted by Judge John M. Karns, a Daley crony. Many of the allegations involved practices that wouldn't be detected by a recount, leading the conservative Chicago Tribune, among others, to conclude that 'once an election has been stolen in Cook County, it stays stolen.' What's more, according to journalist Seymour Hersh, a former Justice Department prosecutor who heard tapes of FBI wiretaps from the period believed that Illinois was rightfully Nixon's. Hersh also has written that J. Edgar Hoover believed Nixon actually won the presidency but in deciding to follow normal procedures and refer the FBI's findings to the attorney general - as of Jan. 20, 1961, Robert F. Kennedy - he effectively buried the case."

Kennedy: “The stuff that ACORN was involved in really was people who were working for ACORN defrauding ACORN.”

Great that he said that!!! NOW WATCH as man of the ACORN WORKERS come out and say they were TOLD TO REGISTER FOLKS AS MANY TIMES AS THEY COULD....BUT TO TRY TO GET REAL NAMES AND ADDRESSES! And when they couldn’t get folks to register over, they went to phone books to do it since they were TOLD BY ACORN that they could do that too!

“You very seldom see lawyers sue (blame) the individual employee. They alway sue (blame) the employer. I wonder what makes ACORN different than normal employers.”

They go for the party with the deepest pockets. It’s pretty obvious how a city or county is funded, but for an outfit like ACORN, the sources of funding might be rather... embarrassing. So you’d need a conservative trial lawyer to take ‘ em on. Good luck finding one;)

Robert Kennedy:

In 1983, he was arrested in a Rapid City South Dakota Airport for heroin possession. A search of his carry-on bag uncovered 183 milligrams of the drug

Kennedy was named one of Time.com’s “Heroes for the Planet”

Kennedy recives royalty payments for participation in two family-owned oil drilling companies, and also uses private jets while preaching about the perils of global warming

******

Sept. 15, 1983

Robert Kennedy Jr. disclosed today that he was under hospital treatment for drug abuse.

Mr. Kennedy, 28 years old, the third child of the Senator Robert F. Kennedy, who was killed in 1968, and Ethel Kennedy, became ill on a Republic Airlines flight to Rapid City, S.D., Sunday.

The authorities obtained a search warrant to look for contraband or controlled substances and confiscated his flight bag.

July 13, 2005

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s article claiming a massive conspiracy between the government and drug companies to “poison a generation of American children.”

Kennedy and his fellow lawyers have also gone after the pharmaceutical company Bayer for the purported downstream impact of its livestock antibiotic Baytril. They allege that residues of the prescription drug pass through the animals and into rivers and ground water.

******

Around the year 2000, Kennedy began organizing a collection of trial lawyer firms, roughly half of which were involved in lawsuits against tobacco companies, to sue giant pork producers and processors such as Smithfield, Premium Standard, Bell Farms, Cargill, Land O’Lakes, and Hormel. Each of the law firms committed itself to an initial “ante” of $50,000 to work with Kennedy.

In January 2001, Kennedy estimated the potential “damages” that could be collected from the pork industry at somewhere between 9 and 13 billion dollars — a large percentage of which the victorious trial lawyers could rake off for themselves. Kennedy discussed this prospect at a January 11, 2001 trial-lawyer gathering in North Carolina, where he was the keynote speaker.

March 2001, Kennedy told the Associated Press: “We have lawyers with the deepest pockets, and they’ve agreed to fight the industry to the end. We’re going to go after all of them.”

Kennedy has called for moving America away from its dependence on fossil fuels like oil and coal, to “clean, renewable resources” like solar energy and wind power. But in 2003, when investors sought permission to build giant modern wind turbines miles off the coast of Cape Cod that could cleanly generate a significant fraction of all the electricity needed in New England, Kennedy opposed the project because some of the turbines would have been distantly visible on the horizon from the Kennedy family home at Hyannis.

Kennedy:

“[President] Bush said he opposed mandatory CO2 caps, due to ‘the incomplete state of scientific knowledge’ about global climate change. Well, the science is clear. This month, a study published in the journal Nature . . . linked the increasing prevalence of destructive hurricanes to human-induced global warming. Now we are all learning what it’s like to reap the whirlwind of fossil fuel dependence which [Republicans] have encouraged. Our destructive addiction has given us a catastrophic war in the Middle East and – now — Katrina is giving our nation a glimpse of the climate chaos we are bequeathing our children.”

avacado ... do you really not get it?

I’ll give you a couple of ways voter registration can effect the election. 1) the more fraudulent registrations, the more likely some fraudulent votes are cast. As in Ohio, other states might find it “difficult” to actually verify the validity of a voter. What is to stop John Doe from voting in precinct A, then Jonathon Doe from going to precinct B and voting again if there the registrations themselves are hazy? 2) As we’re seeing in a good number of polls, they’re over polling Democrats based on REGISTERED voters. Why is that a problem? They reporting that Obama is running higher in the polls based to a false presumption that MORE Democrats are voting. Why is THAT a problem? There is more likelyhood that some voters are going to get discouraged and not vote. If you don’t think that perception is an issue, please look up what happened when Carter conceded the Presidential race to Reagan while the polls were still open across the western part of the US. (hint: many congressional seats that should have been won were lost because voters didn’t go vote)
