Powell is a man who could have been the first black President. He had reasonably enthusiastic support from the Republican party in 2000 but he refused to run.
Looking back I think Powell was just an opportunist who associated himself with the Republicans as a tool to advance his career. They gave him opportunities that the RAT party couldn’t or wouldn’t. Now he betrays them. What a creep.
