Rasmussen Reports ^ | Monday, October 20, 2008 | Rasmussen Reports

Posted on 10/20/2008 5:32:56 PM PDT by Sun

The presidential race in Florida is now essentially even. The latest Fox News/Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds John McCain ahead of Barack Obama 49% to 48%.

Support for the GOP nominee is at the highest level in the past five polls of the state. Last week, Obama held a 51% to 46% lead. He led by seven points in the Fox/Rasmussen poll the week before.

Well, Floridians, it's up to you, and you can do a lot to help McCain/Palin win by volunteering, calling a local talk show in FL, and/or writing a letter to the editor, or whatever else you can do.

McCain/Palin have MOMENTUM on their side!

McCain went up 6% in the FL poll since last week. He has MOMENTUM on his side, but it's close, so please do what you can.

You can even make phone calls for McCain/Palin right from the comfort of you home. If you want details, let me know.

Good news. This is just from today? I forget whose poll it was yesterday that had McCain back up 49-47. Too close for comfort but a big improvement over the pro 0bama polls.

I am in S FL. I will be at my local office this weekend. I made calls in 2004 for Bush. I may go this Thursday night too.

Can people in solid red or solid blue states also make those calls? we had people in Texas fly in on their dime to help in 2004.

Unfortunatly Republicans in Florida can only vote once. Its a handicap race; like adding weight to a racehorse.

Any cartoonists out there that could sketch up McCain racing against Barak with weights labeled "media bias", "voter fraud", "foreign money"...?

+ the Bradley Effect + gross oversampling of Democrats in polls - ACORN voter fraud which seems to not be treated as seriously as it should= McCain will probably win Florida

Hussein stinks, but I’ve seen video from local stations today of church busses (”AME” churches) hauling ex-felons and homeless people to the polls.

Hussein and his minions are going all out to turn this into a Marxist country.

I think the good news though is that people are even more opposed to the Dem “vision” of America than they are to Bush’s right now... even if Obama is able to steal this election, 4 years of failure and I am sure that no media spin or voter fraud can overcome the outrage of his “rule”

Here is a link for Catholic newspapers in every state in the country, including Florida, if anyone wants to write a letter to the editor. Just click the state you are interested in:

http://www.catholicpress.org/

I don’t know if all religious newspapers are allowed to print letters mentioning the candidates’ names, so I wrote a letter about the life issue in other states. Here it is if anyone wants to use it for FL:

“Dear Editor:

When I visited the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ website, I came across prolife quotes from Pope Benedict XVI, and this is one of the quotes:

“God’s love does not differentiate between the newly conceived infant still in his or her mother’s womb and the child or young person, or the adult and the elderly person. God does not distinguish between them because he sees an impression of his own image and likeness (Gn 1:26) in each one.”

So since God does not differentiate between the newly conceived infant, and a child, or the adult, we should do all we can to protect the unborn legally, and not wait for each person’s heart to change. After all, we protect the born from being killed legally, and don’t wait until a murderer’s “heart is changed.”

Yes, lets’ continue to try to change hearts and minds, but in the meantime we must vote for pro-life politicians who will protect both the unborn as well as the born, even before “hearts are changed.”

On Election Day I will be voting pro-life, because I am a 45 million+ “issues” voter. You see, over 45 million unborn babies have been killed since Roe v. Wade.”

And here’s a letter for SECULAR newspapers I wrote to my home state (NY), if anyone wants to use any or all of it for your state:

“Dear Editor:

When Senator Barack Obama was state senator in Illinois, he voted at least 4 times against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act which protects babies born alive from unsuccessful abortions. Barack Obama would allow these babies to die alone in a room without comfort or medical attention, rather than help save their lives. The Constitution gives these babies human rights at birth, but Barack Obama would remove these Constitutional rights.

Barack Obama is even more extreme than Senators Hillary Clinton or Barbara Boxer, who did not object to a similar federal law to protect born-alive babies.

Senator John McCain has had a good pro-life voting record, except for embryonic stem cell research, but I am happy to say, when I visited his website, saw that he reversed his position on that. Not only is embryonic stem cell research unethical, but not one person has ever been helped with embryonic stem cells, but there are numerous treatments from the ethical nonembryonic stem cells which have helped so many people. Senator McCain does, however, support nonembryonic stem cell research.

Senator McCain’s running mate, Governor Sarah Palin is pro-life and walks the walk by choosing life for her own special-needs baby.

It absolutely does matter whom we elect for president reagrding the life issue, because the president picks the judicial nominees, and other examples are when a previous pro-”choice” president vetoed the ban on partial-birth infanticide, and overturned the Mexico City policy, which denied U.S. tax dollars from going to organizations that perform or promote abortion in foreign countries.

On Election Day I will be pulling the lever for McCain/Palin because I am a 45 million+ “issues” voter. You see, over 45 million unborn babies have been killed since Roe v. Wade.”

Well, I'm in west central FL and will be out of state during election week so I'm early voting on Friday for McCain/Palin. I sure hoping the election is over soon, I'm soooo over all of these Obama ads on TV/Radio. He is definitely trying to single handed pull the state out of the down turn with all of the advertising money being spent.

I sure hope there is some kind of investigation into where all of his money is coming from, I'm very skeptical that this is a legitimate effort and next time we need to fight fire with fire. Of course if the republicans were doing it there acually would be an investigation and folks would really go to jail.

I wish there were more like you, and yes, people from other states can make calls, and I think they can do so right from their own homes, regardless of which state they live in.

WTG!

But please get others to vote for McCain/Palin, as well.

They need all the votes they can get to make up for voter fraud.

I hope you’re right...but I don’t want to find out what four years under Hussein would be like. I remember the Carter years. Oh man, they were HORRIBLE. And if people think that foreign countries look at us with disdain NOW, they don’t remember the Carter years.

We were an international joke with that surrender monkey at the helm. And inflation, unemployment and interest rates were out of control...it makes THIS ‘setback’ in the economy look like the Golden Age.

Too bad most “journalists” working now are either too young to remember OR, if they do remember, they are choosing to ignore the malaise and economic problems present during the worst administration of the last 35 years: Jimmy “Killer Rabbit” Carter.

I voted six times today in six separate precincts. I'm doing this everyday until the election is over.
