Karma (Vanity)

Karma

In my humble opinion, what we may see in an Obama Presidency is just karma returning the consequences of dishonorable behavior to the American people. Why do I say this? Well, let me remind you of this statement:

“Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty. This much we pledge--and more. To those old allies whose cultural and spiritual origins we share, we pledge the loyalty of faithful friends. United, there is little we cannot do in a host of cooperative ventures. Divided, there is little we can do--for we dare not meet a powerful challenge at odds and split asunder.

Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans--born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage--and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this Nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world.”

John Fitzgerald Kennedy Inaugural address, Friday, January 20, 1961

With these words ringing in our ears, my generation went to Vietnam and promised the Vietnamese people we would stand shoulder to shoulder with them until their freedom was secure. But, it is to America’s eternal shame and disgrace that the American people soon grew tired of this noble undertaking and betrayed the very people who had believed and trusted us.

Then, as now, the American people elected Democrats to our Congress who had rather see American soldiers killed and our country defeated than to allow a Republican president to receive credit for defeating our enemies. This Democrat lead Congress (the infamous 93rd) cut off funding for the Vietnam War and forced the withdrawal of American combat troops in 1973, but we departed with the hollow promise that we would return if the Republic of South Vietnam were invaded by communist North Vietnam. As everyone must remember, this, again, was a lie.

The tactic we had taught the South Vietnamese was to, when invaded by the North, fall back to a defendable position, stall the communist advance, force the communists to mass their forces before their defenses, and this would allow time for American forces and air power to return to assist them as we had promised. South Vietnam did just that; for twelve days, outnumber ten to one, the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) held and stalled the communist’s advance outside Saigon at a little town called Xuan Loc.

During April 1975, outside the town of Xuan Loc, and in an effort as gallant as that of the Spartans at Thermopile, the ARVN 18th Infantry Division held two North Vietnamese Army Corps at bay for twelve days. Every infantryman in the ARVN 18th Infantry Division died in that stand. None ran away and none survived. They died to a man waiting for the Americans to return as promised.

More than likely, just before the last ARVN soldier of the 18th Infantry Division died, he rolled over on his back and looked to the sky hoping to see the contrails of American B-52 bombers and he saw nothing; he along with all the Vietnamese people had been betrayed. With his dying breath this last ARVN soldier must have then turned his gaze heavenly and beseeched God to Damn America.

Yes, there is such a thing as karma, there are consequences for dishonorable behavior, and our punishment for this dishonorable behavior could be that the chickens are coming home to roost on the American people with an Obama Presidency, a Nancy Pelosi Congress and a Harry Reed Senate.

May God have mercy and bless America one more time…please.

If there is any “damning” to be done, it should fall squarely on the heads of Kerry, Reid, Pelosi, and all the democratz that have caused our “shame”. They and their ilk have damaged our reputation as a steadfast ally and a protector of freedom. Nixon was on the verge of winning the war, North Vietnam was ready to capitulate. The Kerry and all the peaceniks managed to manipulate the public opinion with the help of the MSM of the time. That is why the MSM is in such dire straits today, because people remember their complicity. Keep your head high, sarge, the times they are a changin’..................

I would love to believe that people remember the complicity of the MSM in our loss in Vietnam — but most people today under 45 don’t even know what Vietnam is, much less where it was located (I know, I’ve been a College Professor for over 10 years).

That the MSM was complicit is beyond question. They continue to paint ‘Nam, however, as our fault. This at once advances the cause of the ‘60’s leftist, anti-war, anti-American radicals, as well as brainwashing the younger generation thru multiple avenues — the MSM, entertainment industry, internet and college classrooms.

THe evidence that their methods are working is the overwhelming support of young people today who support Barack Obama and the leftist agenda. The chickens are indeed coming home to roost. And those of us who are the “responsible minority” will be forced to foot the bill.

We need a Paul Revere riding thru the streets of America calling, “The Leftists are coming! The Leftists are coming!”

Disagree there is no “Karma” (a false middle-eastern pagan idea). No, natural consequences do happen in life, however God is the Lord, and He controlls ALL trust in Him, not in the World!

"0bama will not win."

I wish I shared your confidence, but just as karma provides consequences for dishonorable behavior, it also provides consequences for irresponsible voting. As a people deserve the government they have, they also deserve the consequences that result from that government's actions.

Also, the consequences of not securing a county's borders is its people will lose their country as we are losing ours. The consequences of not securing a country's electoral processes to prevent voter fraud is the country will lose its democracy to a thuggocracy, as we are now losing ours to a Chicago mob-run coup de etat.

C'mon, Sarge, if you are gonna post a vanity you can surely do better than this.

WHY, WHY, WHY do so many posters think their vanities matter a whit?

If the time that is wasted posting and reading them were to be spent on posting and reading real articles or news, we all might learn something that would help avoid the nastieness that looms.

I'm no military expert, but that seems like a bad long-term strategy because eventually the US was supposed to go away. I hope we're teaching a better doctrine in Iraq.

"Disagree there is no “Karma” (a false middle-eastern pagan idea).

If the belief that dishonorable behavior leads to personal dishonor is a Pagan belief, then strip me naked, paint me purple and call me a Pagan.

No that sounds more like a natural law-however sometimes dishonorable behavior does not lead to personal dishonor in this life-That is why God is the ultimate Judge not me.

Whether someone prospers from their evil or not (this is a fallen world) they will ultimately be accountable to their Creator!

As for you being a pagan, God loves you, and I care aboyt your soul too. It’s not a thing to joke about..I pray you would come to a saving faith in Him..alone!
