Colin Powell’s Endorsement Of Obama Seen As Serious Betrayal To Republicans And Nation, Says Leading Black Commentator

Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, Founder and President of BOND Action, Inc., issued the following statement today regarding former Secretary of State Colin Powell’s endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama for president:

“Secretary Powell’s endorsement of Sen. Obama is disappointing, but not surprising. Republicans know that Powell is a moderate-liberal Republican, but for him to endorse a socialist like Barack Obama in such a critical election is an act of betrayal to the Republican Party and this nation.

“Mr. Powell said he’s not supporting Obama because of his race, but he didn’t identify a single substantive policy issue that they agree on. Therefore, I have to believe that Secretary Powell’s decision to endorse was partly motivated by race. It appears that Powell, like ninety-six percent of black Americans, is blindly following a charismatic socialist ‘transformational figure’ without substance.

“It’s unfortunate that a man like Colin Powell who’s served his country admirably would now support a man who would put this nation and her people in harm’s way with his naïve foreign policy, and devastate the country with his left-wing domestic agenda.

“Did Secretary Powell forget about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s credo that all Americans should be judged by the content of their character rather than by their color? I cannot believe that Colin Powell honestly believes that the content of Barack Obama’s character is greater than that of Sen. John McCain. And I’m saddened by what this says about his endorsement and judgment. ”

Colin’s vote SHOULD wake up naive Americans’ who refuse to acknowledge the level of racist hate and violence our society is subjected to now and the increased levels we can expect if BLACK RACISM is not attacked with every tool used against White racism....

How about applying the “hate crime / hate speech” - in both directions - or eliminate it.

How about defunding organizations working against the Constitution and stirring hate, voter fraud and animosity — such as ACORN, ACLU, PUSH and every black church preaching Black Liberation Theology.

Outlaw the Black Congressional Caucus - or permit a White Congressional Caucus.

For too long - our Congress Critters have tried to play parent to America’s Negroes and as a result - destroyed the previously strong black families and led to >70% of their babies being born as bastards into single parent families dependent on welfare for generations.....

It’s clearly coming folks — there are far too many Negroes in America who are far too Afro-Centric and anti-White to avoid a bloody confrontation -——— soon.

Excellent statement by Rev. Peterson. Unfortunately, he’s one of only a very small minority of black Americans who sees past the color of the candidates’ skin in this presidential election.

Powell’s endorsement is more harm than good. Even the DUmmies are ripping him, and claiming Powell to be a plant orchestrated by Rove.

Repudiate what!? Powell stinks as an endorsement no matter which side of the fence. He never was anything less than a RINO anyway.

I don’t think anybody really cares about Colin Powell except some people inside the Beltway in Washington DC.

Lefties hate him bone deep because of Iraq. Republicans hate him because he was an unloyal wishy washy sh**t when he worked for W.

Now that he has gone Obama - he is no man land. Kinda like in that movie the Patriot where that American Guy shows the English where the Colonials are holed up in the church and then throws the torch that starts the fire in the church. He turns to the Brits and thinks they will accept him but they look at him with complete disgust.

No man, no land. Colin Powell. You are done. Nobody likes you now - you tool.

General Powell was a good soldier.
General Powell was Sec. State for G. Bush.
General Powell made the case for WMD at the UN.
General Powell will be a player in any Obama administration.
Seems like Obama could be accused of just four more years of George Bush.

“Four years ago, I was flamed off FR as a racist and bigot for daring to declare Colon Bowell an affirmative-action appointee who lost his nerve on the Highway of Death.”

####

That must have occurred during an infestation of sophisticated, nuanced conservatives. That, or outright charlatan, thespian, poseur trolls.

Factual, politically incorrect posts regarding the ongoing racist cloud (and its consequences), overhanging the USA should always be welcomed on FR.

Always.

Some people can't tolerate open and frank communication -- especially liberals. I haven’t cared for Powell since I heard him fretting from the Bush Whitehouse about how he was afraid “they” were going to lose affirmative action. (Dare to dream.) What a stupid racist he is, really. Half-black Powell is lucky he went down in that helicopter with a real general; otherwise we’d have never heard of him. General Token Black is violating all he claims to stand for (except the extermination of black babies, of course)and going to vote for the military-hating, Marxist half-black guy. What a surprise.

“I’m not a racist.” Yeah, right. Nothing wrong with this picture, is there?

Flame away........

Seeing Powell in action in his “retirement” must have some of the men who promoted him wondering just why they did so.

I think Uncle Colin’s speaking fees will go down dramatically in the event of an Obama loss.

I humbly disagree. I believe there are many more Jesse Petersons than Louis Farakans in this country. I believe there are many, many more Colin Powells than Jesse Petersons, but that doesn't mean some of what you say is true — even application of “hate crime/hate speech, defunding organizations like Acorn, Push, and looking closely at the Black Congressional Caucus.

The others you mention (ACLU and any type of infringement on what is preached in churches) is dangerous ground, but I expect that will only go one way and needs to be fairly administered. Welfare entitlements must be curtailed if the people who have lived on them for generations are to be helped. It can't become a way of life, just a safety net.

This is my point about the polling. Why on earth should the pollsters ignore the obvious fact that plenty of Dems,
possibly as many as one in five, will be pulling the lever for McCain? Simple math shows that if Obama gets only 80-82% of the Dems’ vote he is toast. New voter are not going to be enough for Obama to win.

Instead, the MSM loves to dig up “lifetime Republicans” saying they will vote for “the one”.

“..the level of racist hate and violence our society is subjected to now..”

What do you think now of the “U” in USA? It should be the FSA as in “Fractured”. Our emphasis on diversity and political correctness has done us in. The unity in this nation was destroyed when we decided to let the whole world and their dogs come in, unabated. Show me one nation with the wide diversity in population that we have that is united. Diversity is the opposite of unity.

Colin Powell was never (in any lifetime or reincarnation) a lifelong Republican.
