Obama Admits He Supports Marxism during O'Reilly interview (Does anyone have this clip?)
The Conservative Post ^ | October 22, 2008

Obama: “If I am sittin’ pretty, and you’ve got a waitress who is making minimum wage plus tips, and I can afford it and she can’t, what’s the big deal for me to say I’m going to pay a little bit more… that is neighborliness”

Can anyone find this clip from the O'Reilly interview? I'd like to have it should anyone be able to get it.

When YOU DECIDE to help others, that is being kind and neighborly and good.

When the government puts a gun to your head to MAKE YOU do this, it is EVIL.

Barry just doesn't get that simple concept.

Having money taken from me under the force of law and the threat of force is NOT neighborliness...Mr. Obama.

I hope O'Reilly called him out on this. I'd like to see the clip myself. As for Obama supporting Marxism, he sure didn't have any problem talking about it or embracing it in his past:

To avoid being mistaken for a sellout,I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist Professors and the structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets. We smoked cigarettes and wore leather jackets. At night,in the dorms,we discussed neocolonialism,Franz Fanon,Eurocentrism, and patriarchy. When we ground out our cigarettes in the hallway carpet or set our stereos so loud that the walls began to shake,we were resisting bourgeois society's stifling constraints.

The big deal is when it goes from a voluntary paying of "a little bit more" (tips) to an involuntary system when you and your socialist buddies come along, confiscate my money at the point of a gun, and then decide to whom the money goes (after wasting a generous portion of it on government overhead). That's the system that bankrupted the Soviet Union. I think the jury is in on that political system. Why do we need to try it again here?

Apperently, the people in this country don’t care. When I was in school communism and socialism were evil concepts, they are not now. Young people are indoctrinated to believe that socialism and re-distribution of wealth are good, government allows us our rights.

If he feels that the waitress isn’t doing well enough on salary and tips, he could just YOU KNOW, TIP MORE (like 100% of the meal).

And the great thing is that money would go DIRECTLY to the person he feels needs more, not to the government to go to programs and ACORNs.

Barry gave 0.5% of his AGI to charity in 2001. By 2006 he had given 6.1% of his $983,826. AGI.
You would think that as a professing Christian he could afford to give 10% back to those who have so little.

Barry has no problem taking care of the "least of these" with our money. Someone needs to ask him how much over his required tax he gave back since his feelings are that he isn't paying enough... if he only gave what he owed he knowingly stole the balance of what he thinks he should be paying.

We can always draw him a picture:

When I've got a waitress who is making minimum wage plus tips, I'm also happy to pay a little bit more to help her out. I mean, not with my own money, of course. I prefer to go to the patrons at the next table, pull out a gun, and force them to fork it over so I can help the waitress. That is neighborliness.

It is neighborliness for you to say you're going to pay a bit more. It is tyranny for you to say I'm going to pay a bit more.

I absolutely agree. This is the essence of the difference in world view of liberals and conservatives. I feel that we have a moral obligation to help those who need it and are not capable at that point of helping themselves. And, I believe that help should be given with absolute respect and a vision that that person will have better days and become strong in the future as a result of that help. That's preservation of dignity. I truly believe that some liberals prefer wealth redistrubution by force because it's a punishment of sorts for those who dared do better. Also because there are no ‘thank you’s’ involved. When you feel entitiled you don't need to say thank you, and you resent charitable donations for the same reason.

Re: Confiscation vs Charity

Nor do ANY leftists I’ve ever talked to. I’m not sure what causes this mental block. Probably the same missing brain circuit that doesn’t allow them to examine the concept of “incentives”.

A local talk show host says the worst thing that happened to us is the collapse of the Soviet Union because we no longer have them as a bad example. Just show an hour long line at a store to buy some half rotted beets and you'll run from government economic planning. We no longer have those pictures, except in destitute places like Zimbabwe or British hospitals.

This is an incredibly important clip- worth listening to and passing on- but the part you’re talking about is at approx 8 minutes into the segment below- he calls it being “neighborly”...

http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=fpSxVdzQMW4&feature=related

P.S. Your headline is inaccurate- Obama doesn’t say he supports Marxism. The fact is that he DOES support it- but he has never used those words- nor will he. He’s way too clever and deceitful.

That's it? That's the whole clip, the whole quote? That's not Marxism, that's voluntary largesse from a fat cat. Noblesse oblige.

If that gets applied to govt. policy, it's a different thing --- but even then, not so very much different from what's been going on since the institution of the Federal Income Tax.

In other words, OK, it's socialism; but it's nothing new.
