When I was in school communism and socialism were evil concepts, they are not now.
Same for me.
And same with illegitimate births, abortion, homosexuality, and many other topics. The left has been extremely effective in converting good things to bad, and bad things to good.

What Obama supports is a Centrally Planned decision as to who has an obligation to give and who has a right to take. The waitress analogy is completely subjective.
Why isn't is "Just" for me to tell the waitress "You've worked hard for this tip, but you're not going to get the money you worked for. There is, you see, a homeless guy outside, and it is my opinion that he needs this money -- the money you worked for -- he needs it more than you do. So I am now going to take this money and give it to someone who I, in my great wisdom, feel needs it more than you do."
No, Obama, that's called a tip. That's a voluntary gratuity and we all do that unless the service is really bad. It's an incentive for the waitress to provide good service, and she is rewarded according to how well she does her job.
What you're talking about is a tax. That's always included in the total price on the bill the waitress brings you. It's not voluntary, and the waitress doesn't get one red cent of it so don't try to tell us how taxing us will improve her lot.

When YOU decide to help others, that is a virtue called ‘charity’.
When GOVERNMENT compels you to turn over your stuff so they can give it to others, it’s called TAXES - or in Obamaspeak, “forced giving”.
There is no virtue in forced giving. It is simply a duty you have no choice but to do, else the power of government will come down upon you.
Obama is trying to get people to believe that it’s a good thing when government takes your stuff away from you. Wealth redistribution is a moral good, can’t you see that?? Yes, you can be socialist AND moral at the same time? See it yet? Feel good about being screwed by the government folks. You earned it, but we’re going to take it from you.

See, that is what Obama would say. He’d say there’s too many folks skipping out on the tip for the waitress. People who certainly can afford to pay a tip, and then, some, a very generous tip at that.
He assumes, however, that EVERY waitress deserves such tips. The problem always lies with the greedy customer, rather than the selfless waitress, with Obama. MAybe she doesn’t deserve the tip, or as big of a tip as you think, Barry. It’s a free country buddy.
And this is the problem with Obama in a nutshell. He believes he can do a better job leaving tips with people than you can. He’ll legally take your money and decide who gets tips, and how much - and he’ll do a better job than YOU, the guy who actually goes to the local restaurant. You can’t spend your money and pick your charities better than Barack Obama can.
And trust me, he will certainly try to prove that after he confiscates your money to redistribute. Thank you comrade Obama for showing us the way.
I should have said, in describing the waitress, “Maybe she isn’t a very good waitress. Maybe she sits on her a$$ all day doing nothing. Maybe she mean to the customers and thinks just by her very presence on this earth, in that diner, she DESERVES and is ENTITLED TO a big tip from you. Think welfare state mentality.
