Maybe the illegal immigration issue is why McCain agreed to having all three debates hosted by leftists.

I’m beginning to think the whole thing is rigged. Why on earth isn’t McCain hammering home the terrorism angle? Even after Biden’s gaffe, which opened a huge door for the REpublican ticket, McCain is still weakly mentioning Obama’s inexperience and naivete. I don’t think he wants to win. Either that, or his handlers are subversives.

And yet they have said nothing about the millions of foreign laborers illegally in the United States today that have driven millions of Americans out of a wide range of employment sectors while suppressing wages for citizens still working in those industries. ***crickets chirping***

Political debates are opportunities for candidates to ventilate their differences on an issue, and border security is a `third rail’ for both of them, even more so than social security.
Since they have no real differences on the issue and the 4th estate agrees with them, and neither wants to touch the rail, this important issue was simply ignored.

Immigration permeates virtually every domestic problem facing the nation today: health care, education, jobs and the environment; it also factors into national security and foreign policy. Not to mention the mortgage meltdown and the TRILLION DOLLAR BAILOUT.

What is interesting about the debates and particularly Sheiffer, is during the 2004 debates he asked the public for questions. He said he got more about immigration/aliens than any subject. This time he just didn’t bother to ask.

Oh, you all will have plenty of opportunity to talk about immigration - around February when the Obama/Pelosi/Reid juggernaut pushes through their amnesty with immediate citizenship and welfare for 30-40 million illegals and all the additional family members to come while the RINOs left in congress (including McCain) just sit back and go along.
