"Melissa Etheridge sang "Wedding Bell Blues"...

In the original version of "Wedding Bell Blues" by Laura Nyro, which in December, 1966 was popular in Southern California, and apparently nowhere else, the female protagonist wants to marry "Bill." I wonder if Melissa replaced "Bill" with "Jill"?

I wonder if this proposition will help McCain with votes in California. I am not talking about a victory, just a bigger piece of the pie so to speak.

The version by The Fifth Dimension still referred to "Bill."

Great song, great composer and singer, and great group!

>>>the original version of “Wedding Bell Blues” by Laura Nyro,

Laura was also a lesbian. Perhaps the correct lyric all along was Jill?
