The polls are starting their shift from the advocacy phase to the accuracy phase.

That Colin Powell bounce was short-lived.

More good news; new reliable poll showing McConnell leading by 7 in Kentucky — a much more comfortable margin.
Here is one state that BO should have negative coattails.

Either that or they are worried about Rat GOTV efforts.

I'm starting to think that, like one writer said on Monday, the Powell endorsement is a detriment.
Focuses the voter on the fact that too many people are for Obama because of his race, not his policies.

I’ll make a wager....The Powell endorsement was not going to be rolled out so early(next Sunday is my guess)...but they saw this coming in the internal polls they had....so they rolled him out early to try and blunt this.

Agreed. They’re trying to run out the clock, but McCain/Palin continue to complete passes.

It also tied Obama to the Bush administration. New angle - I like it.

I don’t really know if McCain is ahead or tied, 1-2 behind or 3-5 behind but I am confident he is not 8-15 points behind right now. he definitely within striking distance of tying or winning the game. In football terms I think he is just a field goal behind. There is just too much movement in the state polling in the last 2 days to not to conclude that this race has tightened up considerably.

It's the old question - "Would you rather have the lead or the ball?"
I'd rather have the ball and play offense. I think McCain finally realizes HE HAS THE BALL! Now play some damn OFFENSE!

I just now accidently had the TV on ABC Nightly News and they are pushing some poll of Obama 54%, McCain 43%! And commenting that the McCain campaign spent a WHOPPING $150K on Palin’s cloths and how that will cost the McCain campaign voters.
I switch over to Fox News and the “expert” panel is pushing the Fox News poll of Obama ahead by 9 points and saying that there isn't much the McCain campaign can do to turn it around.
No mention of the AP or IBD/TIPP polls, nor any discussion of how over sampled with Democrats the polls have been conducted.
But that's all okay, because all of the clueless are about to get those elite smirks wiped off their faces this November 4th when McCain/Palin tech those pollsters never to over sample Democrats again!
McCain/Palin Landslide: 53% minimum!

Yes that and General McNamara thinks he can walkaway from his UN WMD show . He thinks he can walkaway from his job as spokesperson for the war . He thinks he can walk away from the families who lost loved ones that he helped send off , because he no longer likes the war. The brave General could not resist a Palin cheap shot. Pathetic theatrics.
