I do believe the CINOs need to be purged from your church.

You will get no argument from me.

Hey, looks like it got your attention and apparently made you mad.

My job is done. Now do yours.

Your apparent stupidity and bloated self-esteem did get my attention. And my pity. It must truly suck to be you.

Try growing up a little; try learning something (anything) about the subjects you choose to address ... and maybe (just maybe, but not very likely) you might one day be capable of doing something worthwhile.

I’m doing just fine.

You take care of yourself and that will be sufficient to keep you busy.

If this house were cleaned, you’d be on the curb with the rest of the refuse.

This will be more instructive.

That any church or denomination would have sinners in it should be no surprise. But what was clear is that you did not understand Catholic teaching concerning the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

From what I learned from Catholic friends (and from a couple of visits to a Catholic church), be truly sorry for your sins and promise (God) not to repeat the sins. (be sure and confess all of your sins).

I may have started some trouble with my first post on this thread but, after reading that 47% of Catholics think abortion is OK, I felt the need to elaborate on the subject.

Maybe I should just except the facts and move on?

What I was hoping to clarify was that the Sacrament of Reconciliation is a serious matter. That true repentence requires a thorough examination of one's conscience, a real desire not to offend again, and contrition. Your original post pointed out a skepticism about that process and I must admit there is reason to be skeptical from the standpoint of how seriously some Catholics take it. However, there is no reason for skepticism on the basis of the Church's teaching which is built on a solid foundation.

I agree with you about individual conviction but need to point out that the sincerity of one's reconciliation ultimately is a matter between the penitant and God. In other words, the Catholics you have pointed out in your first post will ultimately face Divine Justice and that an insincere Reconciliation will not prevent that.

Hope that helps.

You can “except” them if you choose-—but I don’t think you have to ACCEPT them’’YOU know what Mark Twain always said: “There’s lies, and damned lies—and then there’s statistics”.

I have a serious credulity problem believing that 47% of Catholics think abortion is OK.

Let me repeat—if they think abortion is OK, they have set themselves apart from the Church. They are CINOs, which means they aren’t any credit to the Church, nor are they responsible witnesses for the Church.

I'm not sure I've ever met a *serious* Catholic. I've dated ladies from very Catholic families, been to umpteen Catholic weddings and celebrations, hung out with many friends who went to Catholic school but, I can't say they were *serious* Catholics.

One thing I do know, one of the basic tenets of Catholicism(sp)is the respect for the preciousness of life. I can't see how one could say they're Catholic and support a pro-choice Democrat. Thanks for your response.

I apologize for my use of reverse psychology. Maybe not the best choice for getting desired results.

Thanks for this reply.

There are so many Catholics who have labored in the noon-day sun in the 36 years since Roe V. Wade. In fact, for the first-response years right after Roe, we were the only ones in the van-guard to begin the counter-insurgency against the infamous Supreme Court decision.

Soon our fellow Christians joined us and even the Feminists for Life came on board.

The self-motivated Catholic politicians and the ineffective Catholic bishops were obstacles all along the way.

But now we are seeing bishop after bishop coming on board to speak out clearly and directly to all Catholics.

In an earlier post I said “Repent and recant”. That’s what pro-life Catholics are praying for—a public recanting of abortion by the “pro-choice” Catholic legislators, and a public act of repentance.

Again, thanks for your reply.

ROE (not meant to be a pun!)
