McCain 54%, Obama 44% in Texas

John McCain is moving ahead in Texas, where he now tops Barack Obama by 10 points, 54% to 44%, in the latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state.

For the four previous months, McCain has led by nine. His new 54% showing is also his highest ever since polling on the race in Texas began in the spring. Forty-four percent (44%) is also Obama's best showing to date.

Now just one percent (1%) of Texas voters say they are undecided.

Seventy-two percent (72%) believe McCain will carry the Lone Star State on Election Day,

In Texas..McCain is supported by 91% of Texas Republicans and four percent (4%) of Democrats.

any breakdown on where hispanic stand in that state and other other states like FL,NM,AZ,CA

suppose NM is a lost cause because of Richardson supporting his new hair on the face look and his support for obama

is anyone voting for them if they are running?

Don’t want to get into the throw awaying the vote etc I was just wondering if anyone would still vote for them even though some of these battlegrounds are close

That’s a pretty weak performance for a Republican presidential candidate in Texas. If McCain gets only 54%, what will Senator Cornyn get? If Cornyn has an unimpressive win on election day, DemocRATS will be targeting lots of races in Texas in 2010 including the governorship.

I voted early on Tuesday down here in South Texas (Victoria) and noticed two things. One, it was the biggest turnout I have ever seen in years of early voting, about a ten minute wait to vote. Two, people were voting FAST. To me, this means nearly all straight party ticket votes.

I agree with that. I know too many old-fashioned Dems who cannot bring themselves to vote for an outright Marxist.
