You'd think.

I could never imagine Iowa going socialist, my only other theory was that there was an influx on Californians changing the political landscape.

Either McCain is the stupidest politician on earth, or he knows something the media pollsters don’t.

Combination of two possiblities. McCain is much closer than the polls indicate (hopefully so), and the Palin visit also serve to lay the groundwork for a 2012 run (she's a lot smarter and ambitious than people give her credit).

Connect the dots.

McCain knows the NRA has 8 figures left to spend.

GOP Strategists? Talk about an oxymoronic phrase. Biggest collection of clowns in political history. A week and a half out from the country possibly electing an anti-American group of subversives to the White House, a group having such negative baggage that any issue properly addressed would torpedo their campaign, but we’re sitting here behind in the polls.

He’s going for the same reason that Biden went to West Virginia, Mac is down in Iowa (same as Bambi in W VA) but he sees some movement in the polls his way. The small movement to Mac in Iowa is probably due to the NRA’s efforts.

Isn’t it the ethanol matter that plagues him in Iowa? No amount of campaigning can overcome that.

That's ridiculous.

I’ve said it before, but McCain believes (according to Rush) the election is decided in the last 72 hours. I suspect they are searching for the final 5 day MONSTER ad blitz to attempt to destroy Obama’s image. Any state with a sizable undecided and weak Obama support might be a target. And, let’s face it, Iowa is almost all white, so if there is a Bradley effect, a state like Iowa is a prime candidate. Went for Bush in 04 and polling for Obama.

GOP Strategists or talking heads claiming to be GOP strategists who make their living by talking to press.

There is a BIG difference.

The RNC is writing off candidates left and right. It couldn't run a campaign even if you showed them how. That's why I say to support your local candidate but skip the national party. Its clueless, leaderless and devoid of balls.

By the way, Obama was supposed to be here in Iowa this week too, but he canceled that stop for his Hawaii trip.

And I bet somewhere,he has one running saying the complete opposite. The asshole is simply a liar. McCain is absolutely right, he’ll do anything, say anything to anyone in order to win.

Bambi can’t make 269 if he loses NH, and Mac is closing in on another Granite State victory.

SurveyUSA poll that had Obama up 13 3 weeks ago had a Dem 42% - Rep 32%.. Only problem with that is 2004 had 36% rep, 34% dem.

Too funny — no one I have talked to believes it. I have had some really funny calls with older farmers that talk about having to bury their guns with Obama. One guy told me Obama opens his mouth and out comes the lies. I keep the NRA endorsement handy too!

Yesterday was my last day to call into Western Iowa as I completed my list but I have enjoyed talking to the people a lot. I come from a farm background in Ohio and understand the tax laws and what it has cost our family to keep the family farm which my cousin now runs.

Of all the calls I have made over the years, I would have to rank Western Iowa my favorite place to call! Start calling into NH today.

McCain will win NH and take OH, VA and NC. Up for grabs are PA, CO and MO.

If McCain takes New Hampshire and Obama takes Colorado, Iowa, and New Mexico we have 269.

Turnout from the western part of the state will be the key. One can only hope McCain can better Bush's ground operation in the Hawkeye State from four years ago.

It may be because of spending controls that he goes to IA in a frantic bid to save MO from the temptation of Oprah’s Obama. The American people, in their lack of wisdom, are about to commit hari-kari.

FR's eternal pessimist weighs in again. No, America is not about to commit hari-kari. Barring some MAJOR last-week surprise, Obama/Biden will lose.

So hurry up! You've only got about ten more days to post this stuff.
