A great quote indeed, but the G. A. is not a corollary to the Constitution and thus has no judicial weight.

It's kinda like citing the Golden Rule as an extension of the Ten Commandments.

Oops. Your first sentence was correct, but your simile was not. The same God that gave the 10 Commandments also gave the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” The underlying Source and Lawgiver was the same in both cases.
