Media's Presidential Bias and Decline
ABC News ^ | October 24, 2008 | Michael S. Malone

Posted on 10/26/2008 11:05:19 AM PDT by Clintonfatigued

But nothing, nothing I've seen has matched the media bias on display in the current presidential campaign.

Republicans are justifiably foaming at the mouth over the sheer one-sidedness of the press coverage of the two candidates and their running mates. But in the last few days, even Democrats, who have been gloating over the pass -- no, make that shameless support -- they've gotten from the press, are starting to get uncomfortable as they realize that no one wins in the long run when we don't have a free and fair press.

Oh please, name a Democrat that believes:

“But in the last few days, even Democrats, who have been gloating over the pass — no, make that shameless support — they’ve gotten from the press, are starting to get uncomfortable as they realize that no one wins in the long run when we don’t have a free and fair press.”

Of course someone wins: Democrats!

The author is right. What surprises me is that ABC news allowed him to publish this article.

Here's to hoping the 2008 elections render the MSM irrelevant.

“no one wins in the long run when we don’t have a free and fair press”

Well actually the communists win, if they control our government.

scene: "Journalist" to Obama; "Senator, before I close this interview, may I be so bold as to ask to kiss your ass?"

Obama to Journalist: "Why certainly, I've not grown tired of it! Just tell Matthews to move over, he's been there quite some time."

pan down to Obama's exposed ass, Charles Gibson, Brian Wilson, Katie Couric, Chris Matthews, et. al. swarming around Obama's ass like bees around a hive.

The MSM is rendering itself irrelevant, because it has squandered its credibility. If it wants to be a propaganda organ, so be it. But it should be considered as no more than a propaganda organ.

What is the difference between an all-democrat Congress and a dictatorship?

Tin foil hat: If the story on 11-5 is "Obama Wins", how much of a story is that? For the past year it has been shoved down our throats that Mac is losing, and he should concede already!

Wouldn't the story that "Mac Wins" be the bigger story ?

That was my take. They may say that to look like they’re taking the high road, but (behind closed doors) that are laughing gleefully and hi-fiving each other like teenagers.

Consider this; The MSM is in it’s death throws. Newspapers are laying people off. Their stocks are falling, circulation is down.

What is the DemonRat answer to a failing industry that they need? Nationalize it. Take it over and own it.

Can anyone think of a country that owns the media sources? China, Russia, Venezuela, Iran, Syria........................!

How would you know if their 1st Amendment Rights have been taken? Fairness Doctrine? Control of the Internet like China, and Iran have done?

Gunner

This self flagellation by ABC only convinces me that they believe the contest is over and Obama is going to win so they are now doing damage control. But what do I know?

So what's new! The liberal establishments propaganda wing -—the mainstream media -— is a major player in modern American politics. The Fourth Estate is suppose to be the watchdog for the people. In recent history, the media for the most part has done a rotten job of remaining unbiased and gave up on the notion of fair and balanced political reporting decades ago. They helped get Carter and Clinton elected and will do whatever is necessary to get Obama into the Oval Office.

You only have to kill one person to end a dictatorship?

Not when the 'dictatorship' is a one-sided MSM.

I feel like we are living behind the “Iron Curtain” of decades ago. (Yes, I’m old enough to remember all that.) New York Times and Washington Post are like Pravda and Izvestia — 100% slanted news; the truth never sees the light of day.

MSM networks are just like the nightly news out of Moscow.

The Limbaugh-like talk shows grab attention of millions searching for truth, just as Radio Free Europe did so long ago.

We are headed down a very dangerous path — need to keep eyes wide open — so much about this government is already pretty darned socialist — just another little push will put us completely over the edge.

We must emphatically say NO to Obama and his criminal cohorts, his financial backers and henchmen who are pushing this slickly wrapped yet empty suit to the helm. NO WAY, not ever, NOBAMA!

Back in the ‘60’s a young Ben Bradley at the Washington Post would often go to the White House and sit down with JFK and they would decide between themselves the best way to fabricate the news for the week. An Obama White House would probably result in a similar collusion.

Media bias has been around a long time, although it does seem like mainstream journalists feel particularly threatened by Palin and have gone to greater lengths than usual to attack her whenever she speaks the truth. The Obama fawning has gotten so extreme, that I think the public is becoming totally turned off by it and will turn on Obama/Biden on election day.

2008 was not a good year for telling the news and the truth by the News Media. Before the election primaries began, a poll was taken of the News Media, and 90% of the News Media was for Obama, and Leftist. So the media is just spinning and telling what they wish was the truth. The news media is just spinning their versions. Sometimes, a whole panell supports only one person, and they speak with just one View. So why even have a panell if they all collectively have just one brain?

I think earlier poster is correct. Malone was sent out to do a CYA for the press, now that they’re sure they’ve done about as much damage as they could. Everyon who supports free and open elections should have already cancelled their subsriptions.
