Purple-State Shuffle: How Wisconsin Moved Left Fast
Pajamas Media | October 26 | Steven Schwerbel

If McCain does win, it will be despite some steep odds. The Republican National Committee has pulled its ads from the state, to focus them elsewhere. And in some key local races, endorsements are going to Democrats.. And in some key local races, endorsements are going to Democrats. This is especially a concern in parts of the Fox Valley, where Democratic Congressman Steve Kagan won the endorsement of the NRA — both he and his opponent, John Gard, had received “A” grades from that organization. In a traditionally conservative area, a downticket endorsement from a conservative organization could have a real impact on the race.

Certainly, the race is not over...

Maybe because the democrat goons who punctured tires on election day 2004 were only given a slap on the wrist.

Nobody wants to stand up to their intimidation if the authorities are impotent.

—not that it’s of great significance overall, but about three weeks ago I was on the road from Burlington to Platteville, Wis-—the MCPalin signs in that area outnumber Nobambi about 20-1-—

hmm, if this American liberal majority is such as large as the MSM says it is, then why do some many democrats feel they still have to run to the right to win?

This is BS. The libs live in big population centers - Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, La Crosse - but the rest of the state is much more conservative.

And it hasn’t just turned left quickly, it’s been like this for a long time.

When McCain came to La Crosse a a few weeks ago my husband and I were surprised to see many college students there. You could tell they were not at the rally merely for college credit. They were buying buttons and they were engaging the protesters.

In the cities surrounding La Crosse we are also seeing more McCain signs than Obama signs.

4 get jail in election day tire slashing

Judge says probation doesn't atone for crime

April 26, 2006

Tossing aside a plea agreement that called for probation, Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Michael B. Brennan sentenced four Democratic Party workers to jail Wednesday for slashing tires on 25 vans rented by Republicans to take voters to polls for the 2004 presidential election.

Calling the vandalism more than harmless hijinks, Brennan admonished the men, including the sons of two prominent Milwaukee politicians, for disenfranchising voters. The judge said he had received letters from county residents upset over the crime.

Michael Pratt, 33, and Lewis Caldwell, 30, were sentenced to six months in jail, while Lavelle Mohammad, 36, got five months and Sowande Omokunde, 26, got four months. Each was also fined $1,000. They have two weeks to report to jail and will be eligible for work release.

Pratt is the son of former Acting Mayor Marvin Pratt, and Omokunde is the son of U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.).

New Party Icon October 1996 Update :
Running to Win : The Key Races
Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary).

Wisconsin: In addition to the four Progressive Milwaukee-backed candidates running for state office (Spencer Coggs, Dale Dulberger, Gwendolynne Moore, Johnnie Morris-Tatum, see Sept Update), two New Party members in Fox Valley are running for the state assembly. Progressive Fox Valley founder and chair Tony Palmeri is in a surprisingly close race against an four-term incumbent conservative Republican in Oshkosh. New Party and AFSCME (American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees) member Corky Van Handel is also running for the state assembly in a nearby district. Both are running as Democrats.

Sample recent offering:

Frankly, I think a civil war resulting from a McCain loss would be a good thing for the GOP right now; it's in the minority anyway, so taking some time to really burn away the detritus that has built up over years of success is a really necessary task. And that will allow a new power center to emerge within the party, aligning it in a way that will be able to take the thing forward.

The McCain campaign people and that includes VanHollen are working phone banks but are missing the issues and here they are:

What is happening here is that TV ads are sturating Wisconsin The buys which Obama is running against McCain are on Stem cell , Health care , and Social security which are outright lies, they are going unchallenged. Even congressman Ryan complained of this . Furthurmore there has been no effort to tie Obama into the sub-prime disaster which he played a key role in. And his camapign advisors of Johnson,Gorlick,Raines, and Mudd or that Mudd praised him for his help when McCain was trying to fix what was going on while contributing heavily to his campaign.

The complaints about Palin come from her appearances on MSM which were edited making her look bad such as on “The View” and the elites are stilling hammering away at her. But thats never pointed out save perhaps video postings in Free Republic.

What Gard has to point out about the NRA “A” given to Kagan is that his position will be meaningless once Obama gets in Even Biden has told Obama..”don’t touch my guns” but Obama not might, will.

Because Obama’s taken similar positions in Illinois. While a community whatever pushed “yer pickin on gang bangers cuz their black” the result has been lighter sentences and more gang killings, and no one wants to touch it because of the “racial issue”

Similarly the campaign was phoning about Ayers., But their talking points failed to make the connection between Ayers and Obama wasting away the Chicago Annenberg Challenge 150 million on radical causes intended for education. That Obama brown shirted the Chicago radio station when it was being reported. Followed then by the question what will Obama he do when elected president? And is that the reason Obama does not want this to come out.

And thats the status as I see it. http://www.theusmat.com/ Please don’t ask about “Your Democrat”, used in this headline its proper usage when used in this sentence.

Outside of Milwaukee and Madison the rest of the state is really as red as they come. I’d not be overly surprised to see McCain sneek out the state. It WILL NOT be a landslide either way in WI.

Why would the NRA endorse a Dem over a Repub who is equally good on gun issues? Makes me glad I told them to get bent earlier this year when they called for a donation.
