A great story is that on the final day of the campaign, Reagan wanted to stop in Minnesota and his aids caned the idea. he would always tease them that if he had listened to him, they would have won Minnesota too. It was close.

WHAT the hell is it with the mediaPUKES and the 100,000 mark?!! Notice how the 100,000 seems to be their favorite lie! Yet McPal can only muster up 10 or 20 thousand in their after reports. HMMMM!!

AmericaUnited-

I love that Minnesota story, but I had heard that it was Nancy Reagan who claimed that her psychic (or whatever) warned that RR was in trouble in CA, so RR went to CA instead of Minneapolis that last day. Either way, I wish RR had gone to MN — he only lost it by 4000 votes and would have surely won it win a campaign-ending stop there.

The map is incorrect; it shows the Eastern Shore of Virginia, the southern tip of the Delmarva Peninsula, going to Mondale. the little dot of red should have been the District of Columbia; then as now, VA does not divide up electoral votes like a few states do.
