It’s painful. We see it fairly often where I work.

Warm soaks can help, but if it fills with pus and doesn’t open on it’s own, it needs to be drained. Our docs are now culturing the pus, since there is so much MRSA around, and Keflex is no longer effective with MRSA.

I was stung on my foot by a wasp the summer before last, ended up with cellulitis and was on antibiotics for four weeks. It seems this kind of thing is more common than one might think.
