What did the slug look like and what color was it? Did you only blister at the place it attached? What is the shape of the wound (round, square, elongated)? My guess is that it was a leech instead of a slug.

It’s blistery. It’s slightly swollen. It’s very red. Right near the nail.

I like the earlier advice about Neosporing. Or maybe hydocortizone.
