Republicans / Conservatives should face the fact that “religion” is not a wholly owned subsidiary of conservatives.

Black pro-Obama churches.

Islamofacist churches.

Scientology.

Wicca.

Presbyterian (gone far Left (GFL)

Episcopalian (GFL)

Methodist (trending)

Large chunks of the Catholic church (trending or GFL)

The list goes on and on of churches on the churches on the Left.

Then there is the “evangelical Left” or borderline which are simply nimrod pacifists who live in a dream world of Utopian peace and trusting brotherly love. They will rue the day they trusted the Marxists, though they won’t realize it until far too late.

Still, the number of Conservatives in “Church” America outweigh those that have gone to the dark side.

Not sure why we should care or focus on it on FR.

"Testimonial" from one of their supporters:

Testimonial from Anthony Christiansen in New York, NY
As a Catholic who is deeply familiar both with the doctrinal and the social teachings of the Church, there is no doubt in my mind that of the two main candidates Obama far better represents the spectrum of Catholic teaching. Our country deeply needs a change of heart - a conversion in Christian terms. The kind of change Obama is endorsing is that sort of conversion.(emphasis mine, tbp) Obama is the candidate for those wanting to champion LIFE in all its diversity. In addition to the Matthew 25 Network website, I highly recommend that undecided Catholic voters see the following links....

How's that for some scary stuff?

Here's what that web site says:

Late-Term Abortion

Obama opposes late term abortions, with a clear exception for the mother's life and health:

"I have repeatedly said that I think it's entirely appropriate for states to restrict or even prohibit late-term abortions as long as there is a strict, well-defined exception for the health of the mother. Now, I don't think that 'mental distress' qualifies as the health of the mother. I think it has to be a serious physical issue that arises in pregnancy, where there are real, significant problems to the mother carrying that child to term."

Funny, Mathew 25 contains the parable of the three servants.

At the end of it, the person who squandered opportunity had everything he had remaining taken from him and given to the servant that used his master’s wealth to attain more wealth (ie, a capitalist).

This is a bogus attempt to twist Matthew 25’s story of the sheep and the goats into socialism. The idea is that individuals, poor, middle class or wealthy, are to help those less fortunate. It says nothing about forcing people to give to the government who then decides who gets the money. Pure theological hogwash!

Whoever Christiansen is—and I don’t have any clue about that—he is not mainstream Catholic.

As a matter of fact, he is straining credibility to cast himself as “deeply familiar both with the doctrinal and social teachings of the church”.

Obviously, if he is actually and factually deeply familar with the doctrinal and social teachings of Catholicism, he has chosen to repudiate it.

He does not speak for anyone but himself.

“Mara Vanderslice, for example, went from a staff job working for Jim Wallis to become the religious point person for Kerry. Kate Michelman, former president ...
www.thenation.com/doc/20041213/kissling “

“Jim Wallis” the socialist self-professed “evangelical” who writes for “Sojourners”, a leftist religious magazine.

The “Matthew 25 Network” listed “Endorsers” are:

Bishop John Bryant, Presiding Prelate of the Fifth Episcopal District, AME Church, Los Angeles, CA

Bart Campolo, Urban minister, Founder of Mission Year,
Cincinnati, OH

Ronaldo Cruz, Former Director of the Office of Hispanic Affairs, USCCB

Sharon Daly, Former Vice-President of Catholic Charities

Rev. Wilfredo De Jesus, Vice-President for Social Justice,
National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, Chicago, IL

Sr. Sharon E. Dillon SSJ-TOSF, Hyattsville, MD

Rev. Dr. Derrick Harkins, Nineteenth Street Baptist Church,
Washington, DC

Delores Leckey, Senior Fellow, Woodstock Theological Center

Former Director of the Secretariat for Family, Laity, Women and Youth, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops

Brian McLaren, Author and Pastor

Vince Miller, Georgetown University, Washington, DC

David O’Brien, College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA

Sr. Catherine Pinkerton, Sisters of Saint Joseph, Washington, DC

Peter Vander Meulen, Coordinator, Office of Social Justice, Christian Reformed Church, Grand Rapids, MI

Rev. Matthew Watley, Reid Temple AME, Glenn Dale, MD

Rev. Mark Whitlock, Irvine, CA

the above list is at: http://www.matthew25.org/

and from: http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/6/16/215535.shtml

“Here’s what we know about John Kerry’s religious outreach person. Mara Vanderslice was raised without any faith and didn’t become an evangelical Christian until she attended Earlham College, a Quaker school known for its adherence to pacifism.

“When in college, Mara was active in the Earlham Socialist Alliance, a group that supports the convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal and openly embraces Marxism-Leninism.

“After graduating, Mara spoke at rallies held by ACT-UP, the anti-Catholic group that disrupted Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in 1989 by spitting the Eucharist on the floor. In 2000, she practiced civil disobedience when she took to the streets of Seattle in a protest against the World Trade Organization. In 2002, she tried to shut down Washington, D.C. in a protest against the IMF and the World Bank.”

She, Mara, claims to be a self-professed “born again” Christian. When??????????? did that happen??? And, if it did, she appears to have lost her way.

Christian giving and socialism and contradictory concepts.

Mara Vanderslice - like the avowed Marxist Obama - they must masquerade as what they are not (steal their way) to get into the “mainstream”.

A bunch of Marxists spend years gaining acceptance as “Christians”, or whatever, not to be what such authentic so-identified persons are, but to use the label, as “Christian”, or whatever, for their Marxist political agendas.

Do Christian radio stations, or anyone else, have to accept these ads? I would think that any biblically-based Christian stations would refuse them. And if they don’t, they ought to hear about it from their advertisers and financial supporters, pronto. Otherwise the Church has no one to blame but itself. Like someone said, this a “Jews for Hitler” type of operation.

We had some rather noisy strangers show up in church yesterday & sit in the back

During church on Sunday, some group (God Bless them) put pamphlets on all the vehicles in the parking lot which basically questioned whether is is "moral" for a candidate to be so radically promoting abortion, as does Obama.

It couched its "debate" in terms of whether (the pamphlet reader) would willingly give a friend a ride to the local bank if you knew that person was going to rob the bank, kill the bank tellers to eliminate witnesses, and then ask for help in the getaway.

The pamphlet, which seemed to be from a Catholic organization, actually framed the same "ride" question three different ways.

Would you give a ride to a friend if you knew that friend was going to simply watch the bank robbery, and afterwards give police a false description of the robber in order to distract them from finding the real robber.

It was a powerful and well-crafted argument, and I am glad that devout Christians are outwardly joining the public debate on political morality and society.

I only hope that anyone in my ethnically diverse church (1700 members) who is thinking of voting Obama would change their minds.

My church is connected to the Assemblies of God, and the pastor delivers a very fundamental Bible-based message each week ... Christ crucified, redemption, Salvation....

But I fear that many of the members are drawn to the same skin factor that attracts so many minorities to Obama.
