The video shows a reporter in Arizona talking about a campaign ad that linked obama with rezko. She offers some context to set up the video and then the video plays. But the video that plays is “not the right ad”. It is a video that draws a comparison of 9-11 to ayers bombing the White House. The video is cut short and the reporter is seen saying “this is not the right ad”. She and shep talk it out and the correct ad begins to play.

Nothing “illegal” about the ad. Polictical ads are the essence of free speech, and, at least until next Jan 20, the 1st Amendment stands. I’ve seen that ad many times too. Nothing new. Fox mistakenly cued it up when they wanted to show a different ad, that’s all.

“Slanderous or libelous ads would indeed be illegal.”
If they were not factual....haven’t seen anything in the video that is not already out there already....

Unless Obama gets elected and the fairness doctrine again reigns, then free speech gets translated into ‘equal time’ speech.

You’re wasting people’s time here. How about synopsizing what happened? Now that would be useful.

Which would be the definition of slander or libel... the untruth in it. I was really nitpicking this comment, not making a comment on the content of the ad itself:
With free speech still in effect in America, the US Constitution still is the law of the land, there can be nothing such as an illegal political ad. There can be false ads, untruthful ads but not illegal ones, yet.
If the ad contained libel or slander, it would not be protected under the First Amendment.

What do you really know about Barak Obama:
doesn’t believe Flt 93 hit the Pentagon
believes in the bombings of the Capitol, Pentagon, police stations in ‘73
cut to FBI poster of Weathermen
cut to Bill Ayers “We didn’t do enough”
Interrupted by infobabe that’s the wrong ad, it should have been about Tony Resko
She babbles on about how we should forget seeing that.
Shep punts by saying they are rather busy and aired the wrong one.
Shep finishes in a very deep voice “What do you really know about Barak Obama?”

There is no slanderous or libelous
political ads. If there were, Obama would be in jail for it. And flap jaw Joe would have been out of a job long ago. Ever seen a successful lawsuit against someone's political ad?
There is slander and libel, but not in the political arena. The First Amendment was designed specifically to protect all political speech, and only political speech.

Illegal is getting over a one hundred million in donations from undocumented overseas sources. Im sure shep will spend a moment on that story.....NOT Shep had me in stitches, yesterday. He was all bent out of shape because some Daily Kos/Du'er idiot accused him of being in the tank for McCain. Shep started ranting over that accusation. "I am not in the tank for McCain!" No kidding, Shep. Why do I feel certain that accusations the other way wouldn't provoke a similar response...
