Nothing Barbara West has done in her 22 years at WFTV-Channel 9 has generated the attention of her interview last week with Sen. Joe Biden, Barack Obama's running mate. The contentious chat has become an Internet sensation -- 1.2 million hits on YouTube during the weekend and more than 500,000 on WFTV.com -- and generated controversy about how journalists question their subjects.
"The thing that stuns me is that this has become about me," said anchor West, 60. She appeared Monday night on The O'Reilly Factor on Fox News Channel and Larry King Live on CNN and plans to be on three more national shows today.
"It's not a good thing. I am not trying to seek the limelight in any way," she said. "I did not do the interview to make headlines, but to get answers that people in the street want to know. When I'm doing fundraisers, I see vast numbers of people. My questions were reflective of what they're asking about."
In the Biden interview, West quoted Karl Marx and asked, "How is Senator Obama not being a Marxist if he intends to spread the wealth around?"

Didn't Biden have a brain tumor or aneurysm a few years ago? Yet the only medical questions I've seen asked were about McCain. He is a much bigger risk than McCain. I don't think Biden answers questions about his brain.

I wonder sometimes if it even registers with people, how the left will attack their critics like a pack of rabid dogs, even while posing as holy defenders of civil liberties.
There's a kind of behavior that is done deliberately in order to obfuscate the issue at hand. It's called crazy-making, and the Obama camp is masterful at it. They never, ever address the actual topic at hand (what Obama actually said) they just continuously change subjects, make it about the person asking, get defensive, etc.
Normal people cannot make sense of the conversation, so they just give up asking.
It's really sick and manipulative, and it's the way Democrats talk to everyone.

They're running the Alinsky playbook. It's right in there, personalize the attacks on your opposition, attack the person, not the message, humiliate and marginalize your opponent, etc. Alinsky disciples attack individuals, not groups or agencies, because they know that individuals are more likely to break under the assault than a group or organization, like a political party. It's dirty, mean, destructive, hateful politics, but that's what 'Rats are about.
If you heard Rush today he talked about her husband now being under attack. He had done some work for Republicans. So gee I guess she is just like Joe the Plumber, Republican ties.
