Skip to comments.NBA's Charles Barkley: McCain Can Only Win By Using Racism
Posted on 10/28/2008 3:28:39 PM PDT by chessplayer
Are you getting tired of being told that you're a racist if you vote for John McCain?
Well, former NBA star Charles Barkley basically told Campbell Brown that on CNN Monday, and went so far as saying: "The only way they can win this election is make it about race. That's the only way they can win it."
Barkley also told Brown that "the polls are flat-out useless" because "most people who are racists, they're not going to answer the question correctly"
Charles was a great power forward and is funny as a basketball analyst. He should stick to discussion hoops because whenever he opens his mouth about politics he reveals his ignorance.
ZZZ. Using ads portraying “Reverend” Wright is now considered racist. Obama’s legions are obviously stone drunk on the racism koolaid.
Play the sweet sound of those Wright/Obama ads. It sounds even prettier than the muslim call to prayer.
Turn off CNN and for that matter the tv.
Don’t purchase or patronize NBA and their gear.
Time for all to do the little things until the big things get changed.
He might as well have just said anyone who votes McCain is a racist.
You mean Charles likes high taxes? I guess since he lost over $10 million gambling, he really needs welfare from Barack.
This is one of those rare occasions when the written word fails to capture the full impact of a celebrity doing his best impersonation of a poodle answering questions about sub-atomic physics.
Most people are not racists so what was his point make excuses for loosing?
Man, I’m so tired of this crap. From now on when someone asks me why I’m voting for McCain, I’m just going to answer, “Because I’m a racist,” and be done with it.
Most are anti-commie too. Where does leave 0? Stuck at 0 E.V.?
Especially Blackjack dealers.
“Turn off CNN and for that matter the tv.” Check.
“Dont purchase or patronize NBA and their gear.” Check.
Just say you are voting against his white half and then say- “you do know he’s half white don’t you?
Headline fixed. Tell Chuck that until McCain has 95% of the white vote he can shut up.
What a maroon. Encouraging people to vote for BHO because he’ll be the first black President isn’t racist, no of course not...
That does it. I’m taking him off my Fave Five list.
“The United States has become a place where actors and athletes are mistaken for people of importance.” - Robert Heinlein.
Man its going to be awful come Nov. 5. I have lots and lots of black friends. We have not said one word to each other about this election but I believe if Obama loses I could lose a lot of friends and it will be ugly.
Rush enjoyed that name.
Charles quote from 17 years ago:
“With the Republicans in power I’m a rich, black man, if the Democrats get control I’ll just be a black man.”
No more watching NBA games where Barkley appears as an analyst.
Don’t be racist, Chaaaales.
Yeah, being called a racist all the time means you might as well get some of the benefits from it.
"Racism!" jumped the shark a few months ago.
One of the funniest ad campaigns in years.
I hope you don't lose a lot of friends because of this. That would be a shame.
I knew someone in Vegas, who would watch Barkley play blackjack. He played so bad that it was a joke around the
I hope the left keeps spouting this nonsense. Might turn off a lot of independents and undecideds and turn them our way.
Too bad Barkley turned to the Dems. He and Rush had a mutual admiration going and Charles said he wanted to get into politics when he was a conservative. That didn’t last.
Charles thats a turible thing to say. LOL!
Barkley claimed he was misquoted in his own book.
Hey Charles, throw any white guys through a window lately?
On an almost similar note, I’m seriously considering sending out an e-mail to ALL my contacts and asking every one of them if they are voting oBama, and if they are, to please never call me, write me or even say hello. You vote for him, you hate America and you hate me. Any friends lost are a net gain. I do not care anymore.
Chuck is always all over the place, he used to be a Republican and was interviewed for the Limbaugh Letter, he let his better judgement be swamped by the overwhelming “mainstream” anti-Republican rhetoric. Guess he got tired of being called an “Uncle Tom” and “Oreo”.
I’ll always have a small soft spot for him as I was often compared to him on the basketball court, the guy built like a football player who kept blowing by people and jumping over them, except I’m white.
I haven’t seen McCain use racism yet. He has used the fact that Barry is a socialist.
Kooky leftists. They are kooky.
Ah Charles Barkley, is he the newest DEM brain trust?
Barkley was a great player, but always a loose cannon. Remember when he tried to spit on someone, maybe a photographer, and instead spit - albeit accidentally - on a little girl? Signs are that he’ll always be bitter that he was unable to lead Auburn, the 76’ers, Suns and Rockets to one championship. Poor Chuck.
I agree. Is it racism when a person votes for race over political principles? (Not that I would ever call Charles Barkley a racist to his face.)
The more the left speaks, the better it is for McCain. What have we heard in the last couple of days? Biden ($150K defines rich), A second Bill of Rights, 401Ks to be replaced by gov't pension, ... These dems are having a premature something or another, and their plans are coming out (no pun intended) at just the right time.
Charles, do you know what one of my favorite commercial lines is?
“Oh, I’m sorry...Are you his dad?”
With all due respect to the vast political acumen of Charles Barkley, without help, the guy couldn’t put his jock on right.
In hindsight, it’s clear Barkley should have played basketball wearing a helmet...
Charles Barkley is bald headed.
