Hmm.
While this may or may not be a complete fabrication, I do have to say that it certainly matches the m.o. of his campaign here in Michigan as I experienced it.

I never signed up at his website, but I received more emails from his supporters/campaign than any other and it all consisted of nothing but despicable attacks on the other candidates.

When I was in St. Paul for the Republican Convention, more than a dozen people told me acolytes of Mitt Romney were feeding all the stories to the media portraying Palin in a negative light.

And were those dozen people disciples of Hucksterbubba? If ever there was a man who give Christianity a bad name, it's Hucksterbubba.

When you think you are headed to being a God, bad things happen.

I’m in agreement with Erick on this.

I think these attacks by former Romney staffers happened below Mitt’s own radar. But they’ve been pulling this kind of stuff since their sleazeball attacks on Fred Thompson during the primaries. Remember the rumors that he would drop out (well ahead of the time he actually did decide to leave the race)? Remember the Phony Fred website? Both were the work of Romney operatives.

Kathleen Parker isn’t the only Romney-supporting pundit who has trashed Palin. She is joined by Michael Shmerconish and arguably Peggy Noonan.

If Mitt does intend to pursue elective office in the future, I hope he does not include these sorry bastages who worked for his presidential campaign in his plans.

I know thatMitt, who is a faithful Mormon, adheres to a stringent moral code. When his former staff and supporters carry out political activities which are anathma to Mitt Romney’s own ethical standards, they do not serve him well.

It is very apparent that the DimocRAT Underground forum does not have a monopoly on ignorance. Some of the posts in this thread have proven that.

Mitt has been supporting the McCain/Palin team right along.

All kinds of people work in campaigns. Some even want their own 15 minutes of fames. Stomp you down to get in front of a camera. And it seemed to me then, as it did now, those with the least amount of actual connection to the candidate or issue are the ones most prone to do these kinds of antics.

It's not like a mind-meld thing happens to everyone involved in a campaign; people can get involved for different reasons. I do not at all think Mitt Romney has anything to do with this. At all.

I can remember a physical brawl between two guys at a GOP convention each claiming they knew Bob Dornan best. The stuff each these guys was spewing was so obviously not at all about Bob Dornan, but about themselves.

Now, why some guy would run on about "pursuing Troopergate"? Who knows. Bet it's something personal and having nothing to do with Sarah Palin, and clearly, nothing to do with Mitt Romney.

Maybe he bought a fancy car figuring he'd go with Mitt to the Whitehouse. Ya can never just know.
