Sad to say, but after Thompson bowed out, I liked Romney. But I do know his supporters do get a bit rough. And I’m not down on him about it but sometimes I think they press the envelope too hard.
If this is true, this would be one of them.

I didn’t like Romney this year, as I also won’t like him in 2012. At least 4 years from now, he would have been a “conservative” for a longer time than he was this year.

Has Romney ever publically stated his support for Sarah Palin? What, if anything, has Romney said about McCain’s VP pick?

In the Primaries, Romney supporters trashed John McCain and our mortgage crisis hero Mike Huckabee (remember the "Club for Growth" front operation's distortions?). It's too late to fire them. McCain-Palin should just put them to work handling campaign mailers.

Romney would Never win in 2012 vs. Obama. Palin, Jindal, Paul Ryan, McCotter would have a better shot at knocking him off.

SSDD for Myth Romney, the back-stabing shape-shifter of the GOP.
ROMNEY ANTI-PALIN
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers, some of whom are currently working
for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin's bid for the White House, have been involved
in spreading ant-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
"Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people
will think of when it comes to 2012," says one former Romney aide,
now working for McCain-Palin. "The only serious candidate ready to challenge to
lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney. He's in charge on November 5th."
Romney's behind the scenes attack on Gov. Palin.
"Almost every critical remark made about Palin
on a recent briefing call about her selection came from political consultants
with ties to Romney. Those comments were planted, says one,
because they knew that reporters would be on the call."
[Washington Prowler, American Spectator, Storm Center, 9/2/2008]
Romney's attacks on other GOP candidates.
Novak: Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign
Said Novak: The rumors were "traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson."
Romney's attacks on other GOP candidates.
"....John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."
[Romney: A Mistake for McCain, 7/23/2008, Dick Morris]
Romney's refusal to help GOP candidates in Massachusetts.
"The most glaring oversight was Romney's refusal to do a phone recording
for Massachusetts Republican Jeff Beatty, who is challenging Sen. John Kerry.
"Mitt supposedly cares about Massachusetts, but won't even return phone calls asking for help,"
says a conservative working for Beatty in Boston.
"It's a tough race, but the least he could do is help.
He's showing his true colors."

I’d take Gov Palin over Myth Romney at this point.
Four more years of pretending to be a conservative wouldn’t be much impetus in support of Romney. He still doesn’t impress this conservative.

This is just more of the kind of rumor-mongering designed to depress the faithful. Its not important. Everyone has an opinion, but only a lightweight talks about November 5 when November 4 is very much in play.
Victory is within reach. Worry about November 5 on November 5. If we have to rebuild, we’ll be looking toward the folks who were stalwart in battle; the ones who flaked on us or badmouthed us from behind the scenes will have no claim on leadership. I don’t really hold a grudge but I don’t forget either. We’ll remember who was with us and who wasn’t when we crossed the finish line.

I think that the left is trying to get people upset with each other. I would be very careful before starting something. Romney intimated that he would like to run with her. I think people are trying to make sure he doesn’t get a cabinet position.
