The American Left (especially its Jewish contingent) has always liked to pretend that support for Israel is a "progressive" position, even as the entire rest of the International Left treated Israel no differently than South Africa or Rhodesia. One thing they have always pointed to is that American Liberals who supported Communists everywhere else traditionally "crossed the street" to support Israel (and unfortunately, many conservatives who opposed every other Communist tended to sympathize with the Arab Communists). American liberals and Leftists have often invoked with pride RFK's support for Israel and how it was at least partially responsible for his assassination.

So now these same "pro-Israel" liberals and leftists are defending Ayers (mach shemo!), who is so anti-Israel he prefers Sirhan to RFK?
