Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi has applied for interim liberation pending the outcome of an appeal.

Arguments over the application will be heard at court in Edinburgh next Thursday.

It emerged last week that the former Libyan intelligence agent, 56, had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and the disease has spread to other parts of his body.

Al Megrahi is serving a life sentence with a minimum term of 27 years for the bombing of Pan Am flight 103 in 1988 which led to the deaths of 270 people.

He should die, without benefit of painkillers, in prison.

When I think of a person whose last comfortable moments on this earth were erased and they suddenly found themselves conscious and strapped into their tumbling seat, falling through the cold air towards a collision with the ground below, my sympathy level for this unrepentant human scumbag terrorist is very low. I tend to think there must be something even worse than prostate cancer that could be visited upon him as a reward.

I say start a new reality show. Don’t treat him for cancer while having several cameras capturing his demise. You can even have a charity 50-50. The winner has to guess when he finally craps out, with the other half going to his victims.

Now, he asks for privilege, or mercy? Bah! He forfeited them long ago. If his creator calls, far be it from me to delay the meeting.

I’d be okay with letting him out as soon as tomorrow ... as long as 2,400 volts is applied for up to 15 seconds today. Otherwise, he deservees no more consideration than we’d give a rabid skunk and less than we’d give a mad dog.

I read in a Glasgow Paper this past week, he wanted to stay in Gateshead Prison in Greenock. as he would not get that good medical in Lybia, I agree send him home.

I know some good ol white guys that need a good turkey hunt...most of them are vets from the Iraq conflicts. We can find a place for this scum to rejoin the sewer from which he came...free transportation to Hell.

I agree send him home

Why? So he can die (albeit probably much sooner) with the cheers of his countrymen in his ears? Let him shuffle off where he belongs -- in prison.

I had nightmares about that incident for years, and prayed for the families of the lost souls. I would strangle this animal with my bare hands if I could reach him.
