Duberstein Backs Obama
New York Times ^ | 10/31/2008 | Jackie Calmes

Kenneth M. Duberstein, Ronald Reagan’s final White House chief of staff and a former political confidant of Senator John McCain, is the latest high-profile Republican to say he will vote instead for Senator Barack Obama for president.

Mr. Duberstein’s decision, confirmed in a brief interview, was not a big surprise given his close friendship with former Secretary of State Colin Powell, who recently announced on NBC News’ “Meet the Press” that he would vote for Mr. Obama, the Democratic nominee, because he was disappointed that both Mr. McCain and the Republican Party have become so socially conservative and negative.

The RINOs want this to be a debacle both in the presidential and the congressional races. They want to use that as a base to launch an attempt to seize the party and move it towards more of a country-club conservative party.

Duberstein Backs Obama

Duberstein is a typical Washington apparatchik looking for a bureaucratic payday on the backs of the taxpayers.

Scumbag.

I recall back in 1995 after the 1994 Republican route of the Congress, all the Democrats defecting and declaring themselves Republicans. Even as a political neophyte, I could not help thinking they were diluting the conservative pool. There was no way they could simply abandon a lifetime of Democrat/Lefist ideaology and instantly embrace conservatism. Clearly, I thought, they are doing it to be on the winning [i.e., recipients of larger payoffs] team and would easily either jump back over or continue to legislate in the manner to which they’d been prevously accustomed. I recall too, Rush basking in the joy of these defections as proof of the validity of the Conservative cause. While I would not then challenge the wisdom of Rush, nothing surfaced to dispell the doubt. The last four years have brought these quislings out of the closet and we are seeing a surge this election cycle.

Lopez must be very tired from carrying Noonan’s water all this time. Peggy, Frum, Brooks, Parker - they are dead as Conservatives. Bunch of elitist frauds.
