Why I am voting for McCain.......from poor, white, ghetto raised America!

Let me start off by letting everyone know I am a white female thats 31 and I live in work in a predominatly black area in Maryland. I grew up in one of the poorest areas on the outskirts of Washington, DC. Today at work I got into a discussion with a co-worker who is a black male from another department. We always talk back and forth about politics, the economy or just shoot the breeze. He is for Obama and I am for McCain and I think we are both trying to figure out why the other is voting the way we are....Somewhere in the hallway conversation I brought up that Obama is close friends with William Ayers(whom we all know is a radical white person) my friend did not discredit this and went on to say that McCain also donated money to a radical group. So I told my friend about an article I read not to long ago about Obama's book "Dreams", the article was about how Ayers may hve co-wrote some of the book. My male friend said wow i would like to read that article so later that day I took the printout of the article to my co-workers office. My friend was not there so I asked the only other person in his office if she would leave the article that my friend asked for on his desk. Now this person that I handed the article to is a professional black woman, she is actully the Director of her 2 person. Herself and my friend work in this office together. She started ranting a raving after seeing the healine of the article...which was Ayers may have co-wrote Dreams. She went into this tangent about how this is so ignorant and that she cannot believe that I would believe this trash. She and I got into a little bit of a heated debate over this. At some point she said all the stuff on the internet is crap and then she turned around and ran to her computer to search for stuff to discredit me about Obama's BC, the LA times video and she said that Ronald Regan had a close relationship with Ayers too. I didnt know that one but okay if she says so. When she came back empty handed she went onto to say that Obama is going to lower taxes and only tax the rich(well we all know this is a pipe dream). I then explained to her that if you raise taxes on everyone and everything that has an income of $250,000 or 150,000...or yet again 100,000 whatever the Obama new magic number is that we the little people will be the actual ones paying this because when you tax a business(and ALL businesses make over 150,000 or 250,000)they have to raise there prices of their products, then we end up buying these products and end up paying the taxes for the businesses. NOW HOW FAIR IS THAT??? We all know that if a businesses over- head goes up then they dont just absorb the cost they raise their prices so they can stay in business. They dont just keep the price the same and go about their merry way. Well this is when she got really crazy, I think it was because she knew I was right and it really pi$$ed her off. I at this point realized that I could not have a rational debate with this person and that the only reason she was voting for Obama is because she is black and he is black. So at the end of this conversation with this narrowminded crazylady she started making fun of how McCain cannot even lift his arms and how he is crippled. I said McCain was a POW and was tourtured....this is when she said very nastily that Obama had a tough life too. Then I, with probaly the strangest of strange looks on my face said "oh yea and hows that. How did Obama have such a hard life?" This lady said because he is BLACK...I started laughing in her face...litterally. She got even more upset and started ranting an raving again about how these articles are just ignorant and after her throwing around the "ignorant" word a few times I said point blank so your calling me igorant. And she said "YES YOUR IGNORANT!". I then repliad I am ignorant because I have different views than you and beleive that Obama has very bad people in his life and has been mentored by people that should be in prison. She said yes you are ignorant! At this point I was in tears. I really realized through all of this that for the black community this election is not about which candidate has the better deal on the table, or who can offer the better solution to the war, or even who can balance the budget....the bottom line is its about race. We have come so far but yet we are still so lost. Its actually very sad. I think the black community thinks they are going to get some imaginary benifit from a black person as President. Newsbreak...your not. So this is why a poor white girl that grew up in the ghetto and was the minority in school is voting for McCain....its because I trust him and I trust Palin to do what is right for the USA....godbless!

I would suggest you hit the economic issues instead of the character issues. As you have seen, they are programmed to fight back on the character issues.

As a bonus, the economics thing isn't very complicated. If you punish the successful people in America with a tax..

1. Besides the simple fact that it is wrong to over-tax one segment of the population and nobody should have to pay 28% tax, there is the fact that it discourages people to move up, start up a business and become successful and achieve the "American Dream." It is hard enough to do this. A vast majority of new businesses fail as it is. Placing a high tax burden on them will only make it harder to move up to prosperity, and cause many businesses to fail.

2. It is a falsehood to say "95% tax cut for the American People" because if you tax the successful people in America, who own the businesses that provide jobs, what are they going to do? (a) Cut back on the work force and/or (b) freeze hiring, and they will also: (c) raise prices. Higher prices.. who pays that? You and I do. A McDonalds franchise will make more than $10 million in a year, but what will they do to keep their profit margin? Fire people and do more with less, and they will raise their prices. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the "95%" will end up paying more for goods and services... it just would have been more "honest" for Obama to tax them to begin with and leave business owners alone.

3. A fact that is indisputable, and was even realized by Democrat Icon: Pres. John F. Kennedy. It may seem paradoxical, as he said, but if you cut taxes, the government actually rakes in more taxes. The economy performs better, and a good economy means better wages and thus more taxes are collected.

4. The most compassionate thing a President and Congress can do for the American people, all of them, regardless of color or background, is to lower all taxes, especially taxes on the successful people who are already providing jobs.

Jimmy Carter tried to do the same things in 1976 that Obama wants to do today. By election day in 1980, we had double-digit inflation, double-digit un-employment, a general mood of despair throughout the country that was famously referred to by Carter as "malaise." People can say what they want about Reagan's spending, he was saddled with a DNC Congress throughout his term, but they cannot truthfully say that the Reagan economy was anything but a BOOM. Barack Obama is like a used car salesman, trying to sell us an old, beatup, 1976 lemon. It doesn't run, we have already bought it and tried it, it didn't drive well in 1976, and it doesn't drive any better today. If anything, the '76 model sold to us by Carter would be disastrous in the current economy. What we need is a return of the Reagan Boom economy which was achieved with lowering taxes on individuals, on investors (capital gains), all across the board, and it really is that simple.

The American economy is a hotrod of a machine, the strongest economy on earth. Taxing it is like pulling spark plugs out of the engine and pouring molasses in the gas tank. Put the spark plugs back in, by lowering taxes, and it runs like a new machine in a hurry.
