Meanwhile, while Palin’s out there building goodwill and showing her honest good nature, Obama has bought up all the remaining “Where’s Waldo” books and changed their titles to “Hidin’ Biden.”
This is adorable. My six year old son did the sweetest thing last night. We took him to a church function called “Trunk or Treat.” Basiclly, Trick-or-Treating in the church parking lot. My wife walked him around while I passed out candy from the back of our van.
After he and my wife finished my son sat in the van taking a break, eating candy. My wife and I started running out of candy. I told my wife that I was amazed that the candy was going so fast. My boy heard me, I guess, hopped out of the van, got in front of me and started passing out his candy. “I have more, daddy, it’s OK.” I told him that he didn’t have to do it because the church was providing replacement candy. He said, “I want to.” My wife eventually convinced him to stop.
I hugged him more tightly than you would believe. I am so proud of that boy.

Piper is my favorite, she had me at licking her hand at the convention!
The things that children learn from their parents speak more loudly about their parents than a half hour prime-time special or two ghost-written autobiographies ever could.
It wasn’t halloween but...
When my daughter was five I gave her money for candy at the supermarket. At the counter there was a collecion can for homeless kids. She asked me what it was and after I explained it to her she put the candy back and put her money in the can. Brought a tear to my eye then and now just thinking about it.
Now she is a soldier preparing to deploy to Iraq next year.
