On one night of November [1938], 92 Jews were murdered, and 25,00030,000 were arrested and deported to concentration camps. This was a "pogrom" or riot directed against a particular group, whether ethnic, religious, or other, and characterized by destruction of their homes, businesses, and religious centres.
In a single night, Kristallnacht saw the destruction of more than 200 Synagogues , and the ransacking of tens of thousands of Jewish businesses and homes.
