It was a great book, though perhaps not in the way Randy Shilts meant it to be. Though he ladled plenty of blame on Reagan (much of which I thought was displaced), he didn't hold his fire against the radical attitudes of the queer cult either... the refusal to use condoms, shut down bath houses, stop group/multiple sex, etc. Before Shilts was a queer hero, he was a queer goat, hated for daring to criticize queer responses to AIDS.

As far as Reagan is concerned I agree 100%. Mr. Shilts was so right in the end.
He had alot of courage to speak out like he did. God Rest his soul.
