We have early voting in TX (and have had it for several years). I voted on the first day (for Sarah), and stood in line for the first time ever. The local papers and TV stations say that the number who are early voting is the largest ever.

While TX is not in doubt, what are your impressions regarding GOP intensity this year versus 2000 and 2004?

I am amazed at the time it is reported on TV that people are prepared to stand in line to vote.

Is this countrywide or just in high population areas? In Britain I cannot imagine anyone being prepared to wait more than 30 minutes or so.

My own experience about 10 - 15 minutes has been my maximum and that was always inside the building not lining up outside and would include handing over my polling card collecting the ballot paper.
