Taxing the Germans?

Snip from the article!

Moreover, some residents of Germany's perennially cash-strapped capital have taken umbrage at the fact that Obama's visit will cost a half-million euros ($786,000) -- half of which will be born by German public funds.

"How come the German and the Berlin taxpayer has to pony up 250,000 euros so that Obama gets a nice television backdrop for his campaign?" asked one irritated blogger on the Web site of a local newspaper.

But another was quick to respond.

"What do you want, McCain to win?" that person asked. "It would be good if Obama won, and he can only do that if he convinces voters back home via the TV. So let the cameras show masses of people flocking to Obama through the Brandenburg Gate."

Obama originally wanted to speak at that symbolic location, but the event was moved after concerns that the Gate shouldn't be used for political purposes. Now the Democratic candidate hopes that huge crowds of cheering supporters, mostly foreign, at Victory Column will help him win November's election in the US.

Because they wanted to influence our elections. If Barack Hussein is a world leader he should be running for DICTATOR OF THE WORLD. He is not fit for President.

The MSM has fooled America!

Yikes! Jerry wants Obama to win! I wonder why that is?

Why is Obama cozying up to the Hun? Fritz doesn’t get to vote. And what’s this thing Obama has with monolithic architecture? Like columns and pillars and huge gates?

Whenever monolithic architecture got involved last century it invariably meant trouble with a Capital-T.

This doesn’t bode well at all for New Zealand. Whenever world leaders begin having delusions of grandeur it invariably means that Kiwis have to go overseas to free a downtrodden populace. Particularly whenever Germany is involved...

I hope it cost them twice that amount. I’m pi$$ed we ever took them off the piles of rocks and rebuilt them. We should have let them starve to death.

Did Obama’s campaign ever pay the whole thing? and if not, wouldn't that amount to an illegal foreign campaign contribution?

OH PLEASE LET EUROPE WAKE UP!

Once again, they will call us stupid (I think have posted this about five times, but I think it bears repeating), once again they will say we are uncivilized, but once again we will do the hard and unpopular thing and the world will breath a sigh of relief.

Thanks to Americans and their hard headed resistance to doing what is “popular”.

Obama won’t be so popular in Germany when he starts asking them to pony of troops for “peace keeping” adventures. He’ll be even less popular if U.S. military cuts cause the Euro’s to divert social welfare funds to deter Russian militarism.

I guess we'll find out when the FEC gets around to looking into Obamas contributions. You know sometime after he is sworn in.

You mean sometime 20 years after he dies after having served in the position for the rest of his life? Even then, probably not, as by then there will be so many streets and public spaces named after him and he will merit 2-3 entire chapters in the revisionist histories.

It would undermine the public perceptions, don’t you know?
