Folks, how in hell can someone be nominated for president and NOT ever have shown his proof of citizenship? I don’t get it . forgive me but isn’t there some sort of law that requires one to PROVE where they were born before they are put in that position. Forgive my ignorance but I always just assumed that a birth certificate was a given in these circumstances.

The Democrats have tried to get by using a 'certificate of live birth' from Hawaii that is a summary (doesn't have all the original information) of the original birth certificate. For some reason, Obama hasn't released the original.

For the record, what is your source for that assertion? I have seen nothing to indicate that the Rats formally provided any evidence of eligibility including proof of age. If either was provided, when and where? This thread can be a record of that event.

One of my purposes in this thread was to allow FReepers to actually see what takes place as the process. To my astonishment, the lawyer for the Tennessee election Commission actually provided a real document. It does not appear to shed any real light on the eligibility but does apparently indicate how the candidates are provided to the controlling state authorities.
