Did you guys catch Fox and Friends - Big Coal Discussion

Posted on 11/03/2008 4:59:35 AM PST by DocT111

They were hammering Clare McCaskill (D-MO) defending Obama's comments - she was talking out of both sides of her mouth.

Totally funny - the next guest they had on for the economy totally debunked McCaskill on taxes. She said that under Obama plan the tax rate will be no higher than Regan's. The guest said that Reagan's rate was 28% - with Obama it's 43-45% (I can't remember the exact number)

Yeah, but we all know that Fox News is just to the right of Mussolini, right?

Sadly, until the MSM puts it out (as in, never), the people who need to hear this will be oblivious to it.

McCaskill is a BS’er and not a very good one at that.

I saw it. Can’t stand that woman. MO needs to vote her OUT next time she is up for re-election.

Clare McCaskill? The woman who stole her senate seat in MO? She needs to get hammered.

There is a clip that the local guy plays, with her “answering” a question about the Fairness Doctrine during a debate with her opponent.

She BSed for 30 seconds, but it was absolutely CLEAR that she had NO IDEA what the Fairness Doctrine was about, even tangentially - and, for bonus points, she threw in a Bush reference.

McCaskill probably meant that Obie's maximum tax rate won't be higher than the maximum tax rate when President Reagan took office! IIRC, it was about 70% back then. But as we should all remember, taxpayers also lost all sorts of deductions when the rates were dropped. Anyone remember the sales tax deduction? Or consumer interest deduction?

McCaskill is a skunk, and I'm embarrassed to say that she's from MO.

The tax rate that McCaskill evaded was 42% according to the gentleman who followed her. He wrote the book, “The Death of Prosperity” or “The End of Prosperity.”

Yup, but don't tell all the FOX haters on FR though.

According to some here “Faux News is in the tank for Obama”

We don't want to shatter anyone’s delusional fantasies.

McCaskill went on and on about the millions of jobs lost under Bush and millions gained under Clinton. No one ever confronts them with the huge changes in our manufacturing sector. Jobs were lost to attrition, not because of anything Bush did or didn’t do. Clinton years saw the growth of the silicon industry. Again, not due to anything Clinton did.

That was Stephen Moore, Sr Financial writer for the WSJ. He said under Reagan the highest tax rate was 28%, under Nobama, it would be 42%.

He also said that the cap and trade system for energy would cause the highest tax increase ever for ALL Americans in terms of higher utility bills which would increase production costs, utilities for stores, and higher prices for the end consumer on all purchases.

“Technically” if you count how high taxes were at the START of the Reagan administration, I guess she was right.

Everytime I see McCaskill, I think of the Cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland. I can’t believe the good people of MO let her beat a good man. Must be St Louis fraud votes.
