>>I agree with you on this one. I worked in Hollywood for 14 years....a few as a commercial producer. My best on set people were not the white self-entitled types.
Absolutely agree. I hate those people: the self-important, union-backing WGA/SAG/whatever union white liberals. They’re the most militant and UNtalented hacks I’ve ever come across. What if I told you that Paul Haggis (who wrote the “tolerant” film CRASH) and everyone of his staff were blonde and brunettes and NOT 1 non-white person? Would you have believed me?
I believe you! The shadow side of Hollywood is dark....VERY dark.....
Yes. I was raised in the Los Angeles area and, like a lot of people, crossed paths with people in the "Industry". The people who received no or little recognition were pretty down-to-earth about the whole thing and usually more talented than those who had some fame.
During the WGA strike I really got annoyed with some writers who fit "the self-important, union-backing WGA/SAG/whatever union white liberals" description because their recent work was embarrassingly awful. It was so bad I wondered if they weren't doing it deliberately to demonstrate the executives were stepping on their "artiste's souls".
I also told them to stop picketing the studios and whining about how they were demonstrating for the "employees oppressed by the evil corporations" and try their act in Compton.
And to shut up about "white, male, middle-class privilege".
