Voter fraud in Minneapolis? ( ACORN’s registration of convicted felons — from prison)

Our local Fox affiliate in the Twin Cities gave a last-minute update on ACORN and its efforts to register voters, over and over again.  The latest scandal appears to be ACORN’s registration of convicted felonsfrom prison:

Tomorrow may set a record for voter turnout in Minnesota, but the Fox 9 Investigators discovered one group registered to vote, who shouldn’t be voting at all. They’re convicted felons, and in some cases they’re registering to vote from prison. How is that possible? Reporter Tom Lyden searched hundreds of thousands of data records to find the answers.

Fox 9 does not provide an embed code for their video, so you’ll have to click over to their page to view the report.  Mostly it’s a rehash of ACORN allegations from around the country, but we can now count Minnesota as yet another state in which an investigation will get launched into ACORN’s practices. The mention of prison registrations comes in Part II of the interview, so be sure to see both links.

If ACORN goes to prisons to register voters, that’s about as explicit an act of registration fraud one can show in court.

Not really because convicts only lose their right to vote if they were convicted of felonies. If they aren't felons, they can still vote, even from prison.

Registering someone to vote that is in prison does not in itself indicate that they intentionally tried to sign up ineligible voters.

I suspect that non-felons in prisons are people that would vote for Obama but might not register and vote unless someone helps them do so.

It's going to be difficult to prove that ACORN workers knew that the prisoners were felons, unless they knew them personally, or there are enough witnesses saying that ACORN signed people up even after they said they were felons.

Can't be true. Our Democrat AG said there was only ONE instance of an ACORN voter registration allegation and that was for a later batch of registrations.

(/sarc)

Can we just toss the whole lot of them in jail? Now? Please? Pretty please? With a cherry on top?

I just went to my local polling office and they didn’t check my ID. They just assumed I was who I was even though my real name sounds VERY Hispanic sounding. So in theory, an illegal alien could have pretended to be me, and nothing would have happened.

FWIW, if you are properly registered, they're not supposed to check ID in Minnesota. They're supposed to ask how to spell your name, look you up in the listing, and have you sign in. You only provide ID if you do the same-day registration.

Don't hold your breath. The Communist/Democrats in MN have their noses so far up ACORN's rear end,They will never investigate ACORN.
They may do a sham investigation for appearances sake, But I wouldn't bet on it.
