2006 The economy was "relatively" fine...DEMS took over all went to hell. Fannie Mae...DEMS.... Energy costs...DEMS

Americans are stupid with short attention spands..McCain should of compaired employement rates, interest rates and the rest in 2006 vs now. Nope "eight" years of hell was McCain's policy.

McCain did a lot of things wrong, but he was never the right candidate. As I said a year ago, an old white guy against a tall young black dude. Any of the others would have run a better campaign and done better.

The Republicans always lose when they nominate a liberal, that’s certainly the lesson of history. Bob Dole, Bush I after he raised taxes, Jerry Ford.

If McCain would have criticized President Bush from the conservative angle , he might have been fine.

Nope.McLame is a RAT who won't admit it.When given the choice the frighteningly naive voters of the US will choose the *proud* RAT over the timid one every time.Romney could have wiped the floor with Hussein...financial crisis or no financial crisis. And I say that in spite of the fact that I'm far from being his biggest fan.If you want someone in *our* Party to blame, blame that fat whackjob Huckabee. If it weren't for him we would have won this.

How about Rush getting Obama elected over Hillary?
Wonder how we and Rush feel about that now?

Bush earned the scorn by assuming the fetal position while the MSM attacked, and by watering down the GOP.

Sadly, I like GWB, but he has been poison to us for 4 years now, we had his 20% approval rating draped around our necks.

I disagree. People I know that were die hard Republicans voted for Obama because he offered change over the last 4 years.

This is just my opinion but I think GWB never used the Presidency to keep the people informed of why he was doing things and that bully pulpit is critical. Clinton was the master of it and Bush just didn’t reach out.

I still think he was a good President and I felt safe with him at the helm. I’m not sure I still feel that safe.

We lost this election the day conservatives decided GWB wasn’t conservative enough.

It was lunacy and people were warned of it. Immigration, Meirs, and the Port Snort were too important to think of the consequences for abandoning Republicans and the President when they needed support the most.

We have gotten what we deserve as a nation. That’s all there is to it.

McCain seemed to run a half hearted campaign... like Dole in 96 and GHWB in 92. Palin is the only reason he did not lose this in a massive landslide.

Of course it may have been a losing battle from the start running against the world media and an unlimited campaign fund.

That being said, they won’t have George H. Bush to kick around anymore! The Rats will actually have to govern rather than pointing fingers.

....but he was never the right candidate.

I guess that's one way to put it.Another way is to just acknowledge that he's a RAT,nominated by RAT crossovers.

How about Rush getting Obama elected over Hillary? Wonder how we and Rush feel about that now?

Rush told voters to cross over and vote for HILLARY because he said neither McCain or the press would go after Obama hard. He said Hillary was behind and that our only hope was to keep the Dems at each other as long as possible. How did Rush help Obama by doing that?

McCain ran against republicans more than he against democrats (with the exception of Obama)during his campaign.

Please don’t over simplify this mess. There are a multitude of reasons we got clobbered. Bush was certainly one of them but mostly beacause he became a punching bag and nobody including himself put up a fight. He looked weak and when that happens the lying sack of Democrats where able to frame the issues in any mannor they wanted. The media drumbeat to the Democrat song also did not help and must have been absolutley demoralizing President Bush.
