To most Americans, "free" health care, "free" housing, "free" food, are wonderful things.

Nothing is "free". Someone has to pay, and that is the working people of America.

Obama ran to the right and Mccain did not have the money to stop it his non stop 6 to 1 media blitz !

The election was bought and paid for with 650 million of foreign money that Bush’s gutted DOJ ignored and
Dem run depts let Acorn go unchecked .
McCain did not have a clue how to run a nation wide campaign and he hired Davis the same Dole idiot.

"Go now, beat the lines."

Maybe I can hire someone to stand in line for me? I don't have time today. My dog and I have to go to the range to celebrate yesterday's events. ;-)

Really?

How’d that Supreme Court thing work out with “McCain/Feingold?” The First Amendment didn’t seem much of a barrier there did it?

(IMHO) Kinda.

You ignore the fact that McCain was hampered by his own campaign finance limitations, that he's a candidate running on a Republican ticket associated with a Republican President when the economy has stumbled, and that he simply was the wrong candidate (too old, not cool, unfunny, viewed as establishment....... like Bob Dole).

I think many Americans vote with a “gut feeling.” Furthermore, many of those who voted for Obama don't even know what his positions are, his experience, nor much else about him. All they know is that he's black and a minority, which is what “change” meant for many minorities.

Socialism is on the rise in the US, Obama is a champion of this idea, and as you stated, most Americans might not really fathom what the idea of socialism really entails. Many do like the idea of state/government run health care, state run retirements, state run education, state run media............... but it's not as far reaching as one might think. Obama simply seized a good theme “Change” during a nervous and uneasy economic time, outspent his opponent 3:1, and had an opponent that was uninspiring to it's base. McCain, Mr. Anti-torture bill, amnesty etc. is not a strong conservative leader, and I'm sure if someone were to look at the numbers, those that typically vote straight republican etc are down from 2004. Why? Because he's simply not appealing to those who vote Republican. The middle of the road guy caused those who vote conservative to stay home, and the ones that will vote Democrat will do so anyway, no matter how much they try to sell him as a “maverick.”

I think there is a high probability that the “fairness doctrine” won't make it past the supreme court. There's that pesky first amendment thing...

Kind of like that pesky first amendment thing that GW Bush thought would SURELY reject the McCain-Feingold campaign reform act of 2002 and so he signed it, that restricted free speech 60 days prior to the election? Ooops, the Supreme Court upheld this after it was challenged and only negated a portion of it in a second challenge. If the fairness doctrine is passed and especially with the SC being packed by radical judicial activists appointed by His MessiahShip, challenges to any laws curtailing the 1st amendment rights or even any 2nd amendment rights will be swept aside like yesterday's trash.

Who the devil are you and what do you want?

Most Americans do not want socialism. The only way for socialism to grow it’s thin weedy roots is by crookedness, lying and thievery. We know that you know that.

Get out of here troll.

"Agreed! Looking for news"

Polls are not news. Opinion masked as MSM news is not news. The best news is that reported (not a story told) by an actual witness or someone issuing an objective, data based study. I don't see much of that anywhere in these days of "journalists" (as opposed to reporters).

First of all, the "Fairness Doctrine" WAS already in place before, so the 1st Amendment would not seem to be sufficient deterrent to the socialists.

Second, what on earth makes you think for one second that the democrats, and the soon-to-be very liberal Supreme Court, are going to let something like the Constitution or Bill of Rights stand between them and control over speech on the public airwaves?

Wake up. These are Stalininsts we're dealing with, comrade.

Talking with my 401K folks today. Time to cash out. Money is safer under a mattress anyway. I call upon “True Americans” to protect their assets and income from thievery. Be VERY tactful and imaginative when doing tax returns. And make as much “under the table” money as you can......
