Norm Coleman nips Al Franken in Minnesota race

MINNEAPOLIS - Republican Norm Coleman has won a second term in the U.S. Senate, surviving a stiff challenge from former comedian Al Franken.

Coleman squeaked past Franken by the narrowest of margins: a few hundred votes with nearly 2.9 million cast. The margin appeared certain to trigger an automatic recount.

If the margin holds up, Coleman would be among the fortunate Republicans who survived big gains by Democrats nationwide.

Norm needs to get in front of a camera post and claim victory.

1,100 votes is a "squeeker" for a Repub. For a Dem it's a "mandate."

We either take-back the press this cycle or we will see a Leftist government for the rest of our lives.

Thank God. The good people of Minnesota don’t need a smearmonger as their Senator.

I am not sure how I should feel. Happy that Coleman won, or sad the Franken got 50% of the vote.

Oh well a RINO wins, but at least there’s an “R” behind his name.

This one is going to court. Anyone know if Minnesota does paper or machine votes?

Margin reported at 755 votes. Franken’s lawyers are already gearing up for long court battle.

This race is the encapsulation of the insanity of the American electorate we witness yesterday.

An hinged, violence prone, ex-comedian mental case gets more than a million votes and is less than a 800 votes from being elected to the US Senate.

What possible explanation can there be for this lunacy?

We either take-back the press this cycle or we will see a Leftist government for the rest of our lives.

As much as possible, stop supporting businesses which advertise in liberal newspapers.

Use your copy machine and internet to print thousands of flyers showing the anti-Judeo/Christian positions of the Obama left, and hand deliver them in your neighborhoods.

We must stop thinking the slanted newspapers/media will suddenly change... and exercise our First Amendment rights OURSELVES, individually if necessary.

Why am I certain the recount will suddenly “find” 10,000 new Franken votes?
