The fairness doctrine is doomed to failure due to the free market. The only reason we have so many conservative talk radio hosts is because the audience wants them. That’s what they want to hear. Air America went bankrupt because they didn’t have the audience. Market factors doomed them. So if they try and take off popular conservative shows and replace them with unpopular liberal shows that no one is listening to (and no one is buying the advertised products), that won’t fly in the radio/TV market. That won’t fly with consumers, the audience. I predict that conservative talk radio and TV is going to ROAR over the next 4 years, fairness doctrine or not. There will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth on the left.

“Rush, Hannity, and Savage will be on fire for the next 4 years.”

I couldn’t care less – and this from someone who has listened to Rush regularly for well over a decade, and as much of Hannity as I can stand.

What they say is now meaningless. Following the destruction of Amerika on a daily basis will neither be fun, nor entertaining. A positive spin on things? Gimme a break. That’s like walking up to someone in the newly burned out shell of their house and saying “well, look! You’ve still got your favorite belt!”. Meaningless.

so many young voters holding the old Soviet Union flag in the background while chanting “Obama.”

These aren't your father's Democrats. Starting today, the new word for Democrat is Soviet.

example:

If the Soviets don't have enough votes to win, Joe Biden will serve as the tie breaker.

Chuckie Schumer (Soviet, NY) explains that conservative talk radio is like pornography.

Al Franken (Soviet, MN) was defeated by Norm Coleman (RINO, MN) but refuses to concede.

Soviets are alarmed at the possibility of a Sarah Palin presidency.

What's with this "free" crap? Who cares about that? This is Obamaland now. They're going to turn everything into NPR. Look for the US version of the BBC. You won't hear anything that isn't approving of The Almighty Oboma.

I hear you. It's going to be whistling past the graveyard. I can almost guarantee what Rush will be talking about today, if it isn't golf or football. And that will be, “We're going to re-build the ‘conservative movement’.” Well, all I can say is, movement this. That's all over and done with. Oboma and the Obomatron sheeple have killed it.

I agree that one way Obama will retain a following is by blaming Bush.

But you have to agree that the tactic of blaming Bush will get old after only a year or so, because blsming Bush never was a legitimate cause.

Another way I think that Obama will react is to blame the media and to attempt to silence the opposition. But he must be clever here because it could easily backfire on him.

Perhaps one way to see the future of how Obama will react is to study how Hugo Chavez has fared. That may be a likely model for Obama’s retaining a hold on power.

I agree. A revival of the Fairness Doctrine will backfire on democrats. Let’s hope they try and silence conservatives but not too soon. Wait until the heat of the 2010 race can be felt.

Yes - the Democrats have changed and they should no longer be referred to as Democrats.

Sorry it took me so long to respond- nursing student by day and mommie by night.

He'll follow his established Modus operandi and place the blame on the “ failed economic policies of the last eight years” .

I agree totally. They obviously saw the flag..yet they said nothing. That’s really saying everything that I need to hear.
