I was giving serious thought to heading down to NC for my the rest of my “decling years’ but with what happened yesterday there's no way I'll do it.It's clear that NC has “New Hampshire Disease” and has it pretty bad.Now Tennessee....specifically eastern TN....looks quite good to me.But I've gotta be as close to the ocean as possible and there's no way that I could stand the heat and humidity of GA or SC.

I think you’d like East Tennessee. Summers can be fairly hot, but we have 4 distinct seasons here.

From Knoxville, you can reach Charleston SC in 6 hours flat and Myrtle Beach SC in 7 hours. It’s 10 hours to the Gulf coast.

If you like the mountains, check out properties around the “Big South Fork” national park, on the TN/KY line. Property values are going up there, since the Smoky Mountain area is over-developed.
