The next big spin, what is the mandate?

Obama has been all over the map, so it will be whatever they want to sell. Well they are going to be selling big, because the voters don't even know yet.

Did you know you volunteered to give up your car to save the planet? save the world, stay home.

Stop breathing too. Anything goes here, really

Well,ya,that is in fact a change...

The 95% shtick stuck. That seems about it for actual change?

This will be big, along with the race victim crowd pressing the difficult point that Obama's election means nothing has changed.

I project he will later again be depicted as not authentically black .

See,he didn't really descend from slaves, and he went to Harvard, all of that.

What real blacks go to Haa'vid?

I think the left will be disappointed because Obama is a politician first and foremost and way over promised them what he can deliever. I have a feeling that it is 1976 all over again and America has to be reminded.

AOL says it’s an “Historic Landslide.”
lol
Yea, sure. It wasn’t even historic turnout.

There was a mandate...we were just run over by it.

More social program...free stuff...government “work” projects....no dirty coal....reparations to black people, peace on earth (which means reduced military spending), tax “re-bates” to people that didn’t pay them.

Gonna be a fun 4 years!

Game plan right now for liberals is pretty simple. The Republicans are obstructing any meaningful changes, we gotta get them out of Congress - there's the midterm election. And they'll coast through to the next presidential with a ‘we're still trying to clean up the mess Bush left’ mantra to carry Obama back to the White House.

I think the only meaningful questions at this point is how to reestablish the conservative cause again. Anything else is meaningless - the Republicans have to come roaring back with a clear and concise goal set, present it to the voters, and do it.

Instead, we'll spend the next year beating upon each other, then dragging our feet to support lame-voices in congress to hold some semblance of a voice for yet another disappointing midterm, and then thrash around and try to scrape up someone for a presidential run.

At some point, someone’s going to realize that we have to run as a party if we intend on being successful. The liberals can't - their party is filled with too many conflicting opinions to launch a meaningful campaign - after all, look at Obama - he won with one word - change. Unfortunately, the voters are going to find out that this was as effective as channel surfing at 3am in the morning. Nothing’s on.

We need comprehensive and iron clad goals. Smaller government, control over entitlement programs, thrashing the insane government payroll. I'd love to have a former officer stand up and run for the White House, demanding that government workers earn no more than their military counterparts.

Instead we'll get some empty campaign hack and everyone going it their own way across the country, yet again, and we'll remain the minority party.

Republicans win when they have goals and stick to them, they lose when the focus disappears. We won against Kerry because we weren't done in Iraq, we had a goal (abet a minor one in the overall scheme of things...) The liberals went into office without a goal, led by someone who owes everyone nothing, and no one owes him a damn thing. Hopefully this will cannibalize their own party, but nothing will mean anything until we get our own party in order.

The next big spin, what is the mandate?

Does Larry Sinclair count? Because that's the only answer that makes sense to me.
